Bought for security purposes as I have no peephole or window overlooking the walkway to my door, and cannot see who might be knocking when I am not expecting. Set up and connection to WIFI was fairly straight forward although I have to say the manual could be written in larger fonts instead of microscopic. Once set up I found the picture quality is very good even the night vision quality is impressive.connection to Wifi as been mainly OK, although a slight 'low quality connection' yesterday evening. My router is at the far end of the living room so not exactly near the door so still adequate.on criticism is the vertical span of the camera which isn't enough to cover the area of the doormat despite having the option of section a 'parcel detection zone'. I guess I could have placed the bell lower down but at the expense of potentially cutting tall people's head off.I haven't yet made use of all the settings options like using a preset message etc..... so more to suss out.Still for now I am happy with my purchase.

I opted for the cheapest Ring doorbell. The additional features in the more expensive versions weren’t worth it for me when all I really needed was a basic video doorbell where I can mark zones for motion detection and see videos.Even though it says you can install it yourself I did get a handyman to do it (amongst a bunch of other jobs) as you need to drill into the external wall which I didn’t fancy doing myself.Very happy with it as i had no doorbell at all and this is a great gadget.I turned off the motion alerts as I don’t need a notification every time there’s movement and that also saves battery. I’d definitely recommend getting the Chime as well so that you’re not relying on an alert on your phone when someone’s at the door.

EDIT: Ring support reached out to me and assisted with a return and replacement. The new doorbell is working a lot better and efficiently. I haven't given a full 5 stars due to the previous issues, but I have been very impressed with the service provided and I must have had a duff first doorbell.Bought the Ring doorbell and Chime bundle as we've been having issues outside our front garden. Read all the reviews of this product and finally decided to bite the bullet and pick up one of these expensive doorbells. Wish I hadn't. The doorbell, despite working throughout the day, doesn't like to work at night. It will sometimes work until 2am, it will sometimes work until 11pm. But it will never work all night. Motion detection is a pick and mix, too. A delivery driver can drive past, get out, walk to the door and ring the doorbell without so much as a hint of the doorbell picking it up. The Chime is just as bad. It's around 3ft from my WiFi router, but continously loses the signal. So even if the doorbell gets pressed, I wouldn't know. Saying that, the app is good at notifications, luckily.I would send the product back for being useless, but I made the mistake of purchasing a Ring no drill door mount from their own website to stick it to our UPVC door, only the adhesive on that lasted 2 days before deciding to throw the doorbell onto a concrete floor. So now I have a damaged and partially working doorbell, complemented by a very rarely working Chime. All in all, a useless product from a useless company.Buy cheaper, there's no way it can be worse than the items Ring get away with selling at a higher premium.

You get a good package when on a deal Version 2 _ Show 5. Easy relatively to install and set up ... suggest fit lower than you might expect and see less sky! Basics well good enough for a general user otherwise fees apply. My setup is slightly hampered as door faces directly south with little blocking the sun, but generally happy with performance.

Bought a a special offer bundle, so exceptional Baker for money.I updated my existing ring doorbell to this version but am not convinced it is an improvement. My original Ring doorbell has a wider viewing angle which was comforting for security reasons and I miss that. This new doorbell also seems to have a delayed response in alerting me to someone being at the door and in allowing me to communicate with them. These things leave me still evaluating whether I will go back to my original doorbell.On the upside I do like the ability to leave a response message if I am away. The software however is better at switching from home to away but not so good at switching back when I return. I loved the first time it recognised I was back home and welcomed me in arrival. Unfortunately it only did it the once which is disappointing. I am still evaluating and hoping to eventually love it as much as my old doorbell. Watch this space.

I am not yet convinced it was worth updating from my previous version ring doorbell. I wish the view angle was as wide as my old doorbell weighwhich gave me a greater sense of security. This version also seems to have delayed response to someone at the door, both in alerting me and in allowing me to communicate with the person at the door. It is better at switching from home to away mode but very bad at switching back when I get home so gets messy in giving an away message when I am actually at home. This could be because it is not as good at maintaining strong WiFi connection.I absolutely loved when it welcomed me home the first time, the problem is that that was the only time it did that. The software then needs some attention. The camera quality is however much better than my old doorbell, and the battery life is also much better.

Decided to buy it (without the chime) after reading the reviews.Easy to install if your partner/husband is good at these things. They provide the bits you need , together with the instructions.Wifi signal is really good.It detects motion, but sometimes is a hit and miss. Not sure why. I.e: it detects a cat walking on my driveway, but not the neighbours when they are on my driveway.Good nigh vision, but you lose some of the clarity if the weather outside is cold (camera gets a bit foggy).
