This thing is a pain to set up, no idea how well it works.
I wish this unit was heavier, so I could at least use it as a paper weight. They make you turn off Smart Connect on your router, which is ridiculous because every other 2.4GHz only device I have, configured just fine without doing so. In the instructions, they don't even know what color their LED is, they said look fit flashing red LED, but it's blue; luckily it didn't hang me up, because by then, I just figured it was another one of their errors. After failing to add the device, I had to insert a pin to use AP Setup Mode (BTW, they said to look for an intermittent blink but it's a Skowhegan blink at this point, once it tries to connect does it blink intermittently). I tried to add my TV, but they don't show any compatible models under the Insignia category. This is as far as I got, so I don't know if it will eventually work or not. Hope this was helpful, have a great day.

Overall a good product, but very glitchy software interface
The product itself works great. I use it to integrate with Alexa for voice control of my TV power. It can do so much more, and the capabilities are more intuitive than some alternatives. The software for getting the system setup is very glitchy though. The oauth service for the Alexa skill is frequently unavailable (this is the iBroadLink.com site, not Amazon's). Also, within the Broadlink app for the iOS devices, the configuration is very painful as the sites keep going offline, and require you wait, and retry many many times to get things setup. The accessibility of the sites is not the only issue -- there are a half-dozen fragments of obsolete broad link apps -- it is very confusing to find out which app is the correct one, and the support staff has no idea. They kept telling me how to install apps that don't even exist. I managed to figure everything out, and get it all up and running. Now that it is setup, it is working fine. Adding new devices, or configuring existing devices continues to be problematic as the web sites keep going offline (they appear to be overloaded)

This device is VERY challenging to work with Home Assistant.
This device is VERY challenging to work with Home Assistant. It's as if the firmware developers deliberately disabled any potential for use outside their three (3) apps ... none of which work well btw. I imagine 75% of folks buy this for the purpose of a smart home improvement and scheduling (automation via homeassistant, etc.)

Could not connect to Wifi
Tried fumbling around with this thing for 2 hours before I gave up, too confusing, hard to read/understand instructions, had to go to YouTube for instructions, not user friendly, I wanted to like this but had to get a refund

Don't buy this!!!!!
What a crappy piece of garbage this is. I couldn't even get it to connect to the internet! When I tried to get help from Broadlink they didn't offer much useful advice. What advice they did give didn't work. Lousy customer service from Broadlink. Returned to Amazon for refund. Overall I would not recommend this product to anyone.
