It is super easy to set up, it fits into any outlet, just plug it in and it's good to go! We have this night light at the top of our stairs with a dark hallway leading to a bathroom and 3 bedrooms. This light, as you can see from the video, works beautifully to give enough light to navigate the dark hallway and the top of the stairs. As you approach the light when you get within about 4 feet, it gently illuminates with a nice glow. After you have moved away for approximately 20-30 seconds it dims down fairly low. It's perfect for us because the outlet for the light is right outside our bedroom and it dims so low that it never bothers us. It does have a daylight sensor so that it won't come on during the day but our hallway is generally fairly dark so it does function during the day due to lack of natural light. If the 3 bedroom doors are closed it keeps any natural light from flooding the hallway. So it's ok with us that the night light functions during the day because sometimes we need the light to come on even in the daytime. I am completely obsessed with this nightlight and am so glad that I found it! We have had it for about 6 months now and it is still going strong! This is definitely worth the money and I would highly recommend!

Wirecutter, NYTimes’s helpful reviewers of all good things, recommended this night light so enthusiastically recently, that I immediately ordered the set. Indeed, they’re almost works of art. I always take night lights with me when I travel, having suffered injury when the blackout curtains prevented me from seeing obstacles in an unfamiliar environment. I’ve unintentionally forgotten many, many, many of them, but these are too nice, and too pricy for me to leave them behind. For those who want complete darkness (as I do), the night owl setting works beautifully, as only motion will cause a power-up, and the soft backlight doesn’t disturb me at all — and I am VERY fussy about that. I LOVE the packaging — it’s fairly fancy, consisting of one piece of intricately-engineered folding, such that it all looks like the important product it is. I plan to buy more for nice hostess gifts. I HIGHLY recommend this night light!

So I travel for work for a living. Someone must have traveled with this and left it behind in the hotel room. I fell in LOVE with it soooooo much I immediately ordered it for my home send some to my mother in law right from my hotel room that minute. Of course I left the one there. I have it in my bathroom. And it's so great for my elderly in-laws. The soft glow is just so soft but lights up as you walk near it. So they're not fumbling for switches or tripping. I'm in love. My kids are getting these for Easter so the grand babies can see when they pop into the bathroom at night. In love !!

I bought this months ago and it’s still working well. Super easy to use, we have ours in the bathroom which helps with late night runs to the bathroom. Simply plug into a socket and that’s it. Illuminates when it’s dark and is off when it’s not.

Nice nightlight with a soft warm glow. My biggest disappointment is I feel of the two modes the ambient one is too dim and the active mode gets too bright.

These are perfect in my bathroom, in the upstairs hallway, In the kitchen. I wish I had plugs on my stairs because this would be perfect lighting for late nights running to the kitchen and not wanting to turn on all the lights. I love that it has two settings; one for fading on in the dark when it senses motion and I think the other is just always on? I only use the sensing one because I love it so much. I initially got it as my son’s nightlight and now I keep buying them to put them everywhere. Highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded. We were impressed with a previous version of this company’s nightlight when we stayed with friends overnight. It takes up very little room, provides minimal illumination when it’s dark, but with motion detection becomes much brighter when we come into the bathroom. It only takes up one socket of a two socket electrical outlet. It so happens that next to the bathroom mirror, it provides almost twice as much light.I measured that it uses 0.49 W when there is enough light to make it turn off, 0.52 W at the low level lighting and 2.27 W when it detects motion and brightens.The only other nightlight I could find with the motion detection brightening feature was a series made by GE, which were less expensive, but much more bulky.

I like the look of the light, that it glows from the back so it is less glaring. Motion sensing is responsive. Only complaint is that when motion is detected at night, and then the bathroom light is turned on, the nightlight doesn't turn off to save power.
