Very Helpful
This book had very practical steps to take to make the kind of textures and look you want in your drawings. Especially for someone like me that has had no formal training or teaching. Just a self taught artist. She takes you through step by instructions for different characters and also goes into some fine details of things like texturing, shading etc. I really like this little book. It's been a big help to me. I draw a lot of dragons. But thanks to this book I have ventured into working on elves.

this would have a 5 star rating but when I open up the book there was a ripped page, not to bad, I could still read it.great instructions, wonderful pictures. despite the ripped page I would recommend this book.

I was hoping for more than 3 dragons because I like this artist's style vs other dragon books
Not exactly what I was expecting. I was hoping for more than 3 dragons because I like this artist's style vs other dragon books. The step by step is good and I love the explanation of wings, horns and scales because that's what I have the most trouble with. If you're looking for anatomy help this isn't a good book, but besides dragons it has a fairy, griffin, gargoyle and a few other mythical creatures.

Loved it!
My grandson just turned 9 and he loves drawing, especially dragons. He was thrilled with the book. I liked it because it showed more than how to draw a dragon, it showed how to shade, how to use different drawing aspects, such as rubbing, using charcoal, pencil, etc. It concentrated on how to draw each part separately. This will help him when he chooses to draw something else with eyes or legs, claws, etc. The best part was the joy on his face when I gave it to him!

NOT actually for beginners, despite misleading title
I purchased this book with the presumption that it would actually make the drawing of fantasy creatures easier than I normally found it, given that the title directly states "Drawing made easy". HOWEVER, in order for beginners with little to no previous experience to truly understand any of the drawing steps after the third or so, you pretty much need to buy the other books in the series (as advertised on the inside jacket) because they use techniques or skills that, should you not understand them, will leave you just as confused as before. Now for those with previous experience, depending on your degree of skill and what techniques or art-terms you know, this could in fact be a fun book to learn from. But the fact that it gives the appearance of a beginner's book takes away from this fact. Overall, the book is more for intermediate users.

One of my favorite drawing books
I was trying to take up drawing and love fantasy stuff, so I picked this one up. I'm on a beginner level in my opinion. This book was easy to follow along with and it broke down the drawing steps pretty well. It's one of my favorite drawing books and I would recommend it.

re-learning to draw
I haven't drawn in so long I needed a refresher. Getting my drawing hands back again thanks to this book on "how to". And moving on to more that I haven't done in ages! Thanks for the motivation.... Grandson getting a dragon for Christmas!
