Restoration and how to replace missing wooden pieces
Great pictures and lots of great tips. Best tip ever was using the use of car body filler to replace pieces of missing wood. You can buy it in the paint department at the hardware store under the name Bondo. It can be sanded and stained and with a little practice made to look just like the rest of the wood on your project. I recommend this book.

Very helpful little book
Furniture restoration is never a page turner but this comes very close, for the beginner guiding you through the do's and don'ts with some helpful, easily understood and often amusing hints and tips. I liked the book so much I am in the process of buying another of his books!!

Great book for a beginner.
Good looking book, starting with the basics and then building up to projects, lots of pictures. I have bought this as gift and am very pleased with it.

Practical, sensible advice
I first encountered this book at my local library, where I borrowed four books on similar subjects. Most of them were boring, complicated and hard to follow the techniques. This book absolutely stood out for its great practical advice, with good illustrations, and a great writing style. The author has a sense of humour which he uses well to guide beginners through the pleasures and pitfalls of furniture restoration. Highly recommended!
