Beware - NOT pressed powder and no returns!
I don't know why this is advertised as pressed powder. The jar of loose, black powder that is in the small container it comes in, is a mess. It's very fine powder and there's nothing pressed about it. Once the lid is opened, it gets on everything. Will have to agree that it is a dark pigment. So I dabbed the brush I purchased beforehand in water and dabbed a little powder and made a paint palette in the lid and tried to apply. Forget that. BTW, this item is NOT returnable. Thought everything through Amazon was returnable and free with Prime membership. I should have gone with the Clinique cake eyeliner I ended up ordering in the first place. First bad review I think I've ever written. Extremely disappointed...

Dark, bold color. Perfect!
Updating my review. Someone had asked a while back if I had noticed any issues with flaking. I replied no, and now that I have used this several times, in several weather conditions I have had zero issues at all with this eyeliner. I have sensitive eyes, if there was any flaking at all, I would have noticed it by now. I have worn it in extremely hot, dry conditions as well as humid and muggy. No flakes, no running, stays where I put it with no issues whatsoever. I still love this as much as I did when I first tried it out.I was so excited this was coming today, practically ripped the box open with my teeth. Tried a little on my hand as you can see, this is exactly what I was looking for! I hate eyeliner pencils and forget about liquids, I am not skilled enough and end up looking a little Winehouse-y whenever I try them. Years ago I had a Chanel eyeliner that you wet and applied and I adored it. Unfortunately for me, my friend did too and it turned up missing. Several years ago I bought a wet and brush on eyeliner from Clinique that I have been using for years, which I liked better than my other options available at the time but I was finally coming to the end of its life. I decided to try to find something similar to what I'd had in the past and hoped this would be it.As soon as the drop of water touched the powder and it sunk in, I knew this was just like my old Chanel one. YAY! Happy day. I applied some to my hand and the color is rich and dark and just how I like it. After letting it dry, I rubbed on it to see if it would smear. No smear. I don't wear makeup every day, and if this is like what I had before it will probably last me a very long time. And it was so cute, the seller even wrote "Thank you" inside the box. No, thank YOU. You have made me a very happy girl. I may have to start wearing make up more often.

A winner
I was a Laura Mercier Tighline cake liner devotee, but it became harder to find. I tried this one just to see how it would compare. First of all, great pigmentation. I don't like to have to go over and over the line for definition, and this applied well the first time. The navy blue is darker than the other brand...definitely more of a blackish blue....and I do wish it was just slightly more blue, but I do like the pigmentation level. Something that surprised me is that it actually stayed in place BETTER throughout the day than the other brand. At the end of the day, it was still in place--no smudging or migration. AND it also removes easily with simple soap and water--also another plus. No need for makeup remover or major scrubbing in the delicate eye area. This is a winner in my book. More colors please (think dark eggplant, dark forest and maybe deep copper)

Pure Ziva Matte Chocolate Brown cake eyeliner
I have been searching for this type of cake eyeliner for years. Cake eyeliner is what we used in the '60's and '70's. I am very pleased with this product and intend to stock up, since it seems that when you find a wonderful product that you can't live without, they always quit making it. ha ha Apply with wet brush, and YOU have control of application... Unlike pencils that tug and drag on the delicate skin around your eyes, or felt tipped versions that dry out before you can complete the task at hand.

Like it better than the gel liner
I used gel liner for the past few years and thought that worked for me, but I have to say I like this much better. For one thing I can go over the line to make it darker and thicker looking without removing the existing line or making it build in physical thickness (remains flat and smooth). This also means I can easily work in in the lash line without buildup that can interfere in the mascara. I use a very thin small soft angle brush (I had for watercolors). I tapped off the water on a tissue before mixing and applying. Don’t use too much water. The amount of water helps control the thinness and the darkness. It works like watercolors. If you make a mistake or need to clean up just use a Q-Tip to wipe away quickly or if dry just damp a Q-Tip and wipe. It’s that simple. Once dry (which happens quickly) it stays all day. I rarely have smearing even with moderate sweating. If it does get wet and smear I just use fingers or damp tissue to wipe excess. Just to note I have really oily skin and this product still works better than others I’ve tried.
