Actually works!
Had a leak around our old oil plug due to old age and damage. We had tried a bigger plug, a washer, silicone, etc but it still leaked. Applied this and followed the easy to follow instructions...no more leaks. It's been on the car for 6 months or longer and still no leaks. Easy to remove end piece during oil change and reapply (magnetic). Awesome product!

An Ingenious, Easy-to-Use Solution for a Automotive Nightmare
I drive a 2003 Ford Ranger 2.3 L, which is my daily driver and only vehicle. I do 100% of the repairs and maintenance, and when I was changing the oil recently, I accidentally cross-threaded the oil drain plug. I only figured this out when I was tightening the bolt and it started loosening instead. This truck has an aluminum oil pan that bolts to the engine and the transmission, and the engine has to be removed to replace it. Since I don't have the equipment to do that myself, I was looking at repair bill of at least $500-$1000 and the everlasting shame of my careless mistake.Desperate for a solution, I found Eco-Plug and ordered one. After removing the old plug, the damage was confirmed by the torn out threads sparkling in the pan of drained oil. I had some concerns though, because the original plug was only 12 or 13 mm, and was pretty long. In contrast, the tapered Eco-Plug was designed to fit a drain hole of 12-16 mm, meaning not much would be threaded into the hole.I called Eco-Plug's customer service number at 4 PM on a Saturday, and they picked up right away. The guy I spoke to confirmed this plug would be the best solution for my truck, so I went ahead and installed it (less than 5 minutes). This plug has the threads precoated with green expand-o-seal epoxy, which is activated by tightening it in place. After a waiting a couple hours for the sealer to cure, I refilled the truck with oil and have been driving it for about 1000 miles without a single drop leaking. This product is amazing, definitely give it a try and save yourself a bundle of money and time.

Great Product!
Got myself in a jam when my oil pan threads stripped. Came across this product after doing some research. After speaking to Peter himself the inventor of this product(He personally returned my call) I installed my product being assured I made the right purchase. It was very easy to install and quite genius of a product. Saved me a lot of stress and money. Magnetic tool also is great. Easy for anyone to install that has half a brain. I sleep great now knowing I made the right decision. Mechanic wanted to charge me 500 plus to change the pan. Wish mechanics out would be more honest about ways of solving customers problems.

Great alternative to oil pan replacement; questionable magnet
My 2005 Odyssey has 340K miles and still going strong. Like many others the steel drain bolt striped out the threads in the aluminum oil pan, likely at the hands of an aggressive tech at one of the quick change joints. Most options are fairly unappealing, especially on an older vehicle. Picked up one of these about a year ago. Installed easily (you need to use a bit more force than the video suggests) and worked well for ~30K miles but then began to weep oil around the magnetic insert (not where the tapered bolt meets the pan). Carefully cleaned/inspected all mating parts but the problem became progressively worse. I suspect the smallish magnet near the core of the insert becomes less effective over time. On a whim I sized up a 3/4 in. Neodymium Rare-Earth Magnet Disc I had lying around. It was a PERFECT fit (model #07091HD, internet #202526387, store SKU #633808) when placed on the inner surface. Plug pulls in firmly and seals tight. As a bonus the face of the insert now sits flush with the bolt making removal a bit easier with a pair of pliers. I will probably change the disk magnetic on a regular schedule much like you would change the crush washer on a traditional oil plug.

This worked for my RV's Onan Generator
I almost never write reviews, but this time I must!I went to do an oil change on my RVs Onan 2800 Microlite generator. When I removed the drain plug I could see that there were some stripped threads from the socket lodged in the bolt threads. I tried to reattach the plugt a number of times but it never closed securely and when I put oil in it leaked. What to do?After some research I found the Eco Plug. I was a bit skeptical, but for $20 I figured it was worth trying before looking for a mechanic to do a repair that might be hundreds of dollars. In short it worked!I followed the directions, and initially it did leak a little bit - I had been a bit cautious and didn't want to over tighten the bolt and potentially crack the aluminum drain pan. But I went ahead and cranked it a little bit more, as in the instructions - and a friendly and helpful phone call to eco-plug- and it worked! No more leaking!Fitting the Eco-plug to this generator was a bit challenging. First of all the diameter of the drain hole is the smallest that this tap can work with - 12mm. Secondly, and more important, the way the Onan is set up is there is a steel shield hung underneath the generator so you actually reach the drain plug by going through a small hole in the shield, and at least on mine the drain hole is off-center from the hole that was drilled in the shield. I initially tried to file down the shield a little bit but was unsuccessful with the tools I had. But the eco-plug just barely fit. Much more difficult to work with in the typical automobile drain pan. I did run the generator for about 5 minutes, and seemed to be good.
