Q: If sold as new, why did it say this serial # was registered to another email account when I tried to open one for this?

I myself would be leery of buying a tomtom which is already registered to someone else's email address. I own 3 older model tomtom GPS units and each one had to be registered to a different email address. I don't know for sure but transferring to a different email address may lose the Lifetime Map and Lifetime Traffic features for you. I would research tomtom's website about "transferring email addresses" BEFORE purchasing.

Q: Will this work with the universal tomtom dashboard mount?

Had no problem using my old dashboard mount.

Q: Will all gps model allow for world maps

I do not think so....but go to TomTom customer service (google) to find out for sure. I live in Florida and took the TomTom to California where I drove for a week from San Francisco with numerous stops to Los Angeles.... very happy with this GPS....was spot on.

Q: Does it give advance lane change information?

It only gives lane change information by the arrows on the top of the screen. No verbal. That is the only thing we miss from our old TomTom but we like everything else about it.
