The Ember Cup functions well with or without the app. Without the app, it will maintain a default temperature of 57°C. With the app, the mug remembers the temperature you last set, so you don't have to open the app every time you use it.

Is my Ember safe to leave on the charger?

Yes! When the battery is fully charged, the charging is shut off automatically, so no battery damage will occur.

Is the Ember Cup easy to clean?
