Nicely built, works well. Not much play so gate doesn't move once locked. I used 1-1/2" inch #8 deck screws for stronger support instead of the provided #8 threaded screws which were a bit shorter. You could probably use #10 as well.Going to install this latch on my second gate as well, works much better than that sliding latch.

I purchased this latch to secure the doors on a salt storage bin. The latch is quality built and was easy to install. I especially like the pre-drilled holes where you can add a padlock. I'm comfortable the salt bin doors will stay closed, and my salt will be secure.

Will update after it's up at least 3 months of constant use. For now, installation was easy, the latch is heavy duty and is doing it's job of keeping the gates closed. I like the option to put a lock or U ring to hold it closed.

I had a split 9 foot vinyl gate installed beside my house. The first latch we tried was a slip bolt. That did not work out because of the amount of wind we have. I would latch the bolt and later on in the day or the next morning, the gate was standing open. (Not good). I ordered this Gate Latch Lock which I installed above the slip bolt lock and it is great. You need to install the piece with the swivel latch first and then check to make sure the holes line up on the other piece in order to put a padlock on the latch. It is very sturdy and when installed correctly, works perfectly even without inserting a padlock in the holes that are predrilled. Just wish I had ordered this one first and I could have avoided all the fuss with the slip bolt.
