Q: I have fairly small hands. Would this work for me?

I think so. There are a couple different ways to hold it so you would just need to see what worked the best for your hands.

Q: Is this narrow enough to be used on the front intercostal muscles (between the ribs)? The pictures looks as though this may be a tad too wide.

Sometimes I use this tool on the intercostals, you have to angle it just right though. It seems to be too intense for most people, even with the lightest pressure. Sand the seam first and use your other hand to follow the angle of the ribs.

Q: Can this tool be used in either hand? I'm a lefty.

yes , both hands. Some people buy two of them , so they could use it simultaneously.
