Q: i'm a couple inches short of medium size, can i still wear this?

Yes you would be the trousers would be a better fit that way

Q: What is the sizes of the medium suit?

Well I'm about 5'7 and the trousers we're rather long so I had to roll them up a bit and the waist, well I could probably of fit another me in them, but with a belt it's alright.

Q: What size is the trousers on the XL please

They have a elasticated waist so will probably fit any where from 34 to 38 possibly 40my sons a 36" waist and they fit with plenty of room but not hanging!!! If that makes sense!!

Q: Can you iron the suit?

No sure. I didn't iron it. The material is shiny
