Me? More and more these days..... However, I am to delighted to confirm that with reference to the threading tool, you can keep your hands clean - no grease required.

Can you rethread the same screw hole twice?

It is possible to try the re-threader then try the bolt. It depends on the depth of thread (how thick the metal is) and it’s condition. If its a poor fit I would try a 4mm Tap or consider re drilling and tapping to take a 4•5 or 5mm bolt. There are other alternatives but I don’t want to go on and on. I hope this helps.

This tool is for cutting threads in electrical back boxes made from steel, either because the thread is damaged in some way, or the box is very old and the thread size is mperial which is not compatible with modern electrical sockets and switches. If the damaged thread in your Ring fitting is less than M3.5, it may work, but an alternative could be to use some self tapping screws of a suitable size.
