When Ziggy Played the Marquee: David Bowie's Last Performance as Ziggy Stardust (Iconic Images)

Distinctly average.
As another reviewer has said, the photos are incredibly repetitive, there are no brilliant standout images, the photos lack the iconic intensity of Mick Rock's work. The book itself is nicely produced, the images are so-so, but the redeeming feature is the vivid recollections of teenage fans (now in their late 50s/early 60s) who attended the recording of this TV show. By no means essential.

Coffee table reading
A lovely book, packed full of photos, including lots of contact prints and interspersed with occasional commentary. One that stood out for me was by Vanessa Lindsey-Blunt, who recalled meeting David at a hotel and then at a subsequent gig when he took her to his dressing room as she didn’t have tickets to see the show. The account confirms what a nice guy he was, even as his fame was escalating madly. It is mainly photographs and they tell the story of that time really well, helped along by the short narratives that add insight. It is a good book to add to the collection of Bowie fans.

Good price now
Great book and pictures backstage and on stage. Just a pity that Terry didn't use colour film on the day,but he does apologies in the book for that. A must for Bowie fans and at £16 now even better. Go on treat yourself and enjoy.
