This accurate plant growing thermometer has a clear readout and being larger than some can be read at distance. It is powered by two easily obtainable AA batteries. Two batteries are supplied with the thermometer. The easily accessible battery door is at the back of the one piece case.Wipe clean reset buttons are mounted at the side of the display.I like this well proportioned device, it has a solid feel and it looks right. It is robustly constructed and at £[] this thermometer represents good value.Devices of this type are very sensitive and react very quickly to change in temperature, they do need to be positioned out of direct sunlight and attached to a reasonably insulated surface.I confidently expect to get years of service from my purchase without having to squint or tap and wait for the magnet to reset in the glass capiliary. This is step forward for the greenhouse or 'growing room' user.

This item is everything I hoped for in a greenhouse, or indeed a house, thermometer. The casing is plastic, well-made and put together. No handbook, because there is no need - this thermometer works exactly as you'd expect, with one possible exception; being digital it uses a battery (included with the pack). It's important to remember this as it's not particularly greedy on battery power and we almost disposed of our thermometer when it stopped working after several years' uninterrupted usage.The thermometer shows the temperature now. You press 'clear' each morning, or whenever, to be rid of the existing figures for maximum and minimum. Next morning you can see how high and how low the temperature rose. This item is a fast responder, so if you have delicate plants and need to check urgently, this is the right one for you.You can choose centrigrade or farenheight, and the thermometer converts to either in a second. Great for a whole family of gardeners!This item is user-friendly for those with visual impairment; figures very readable and the 'clear' button easily located on the side.Lovely job, I really like it. Also it's a cute design.

I just works, popped it towards at the back of my lean-to greenhouse and can read it with ease. Of course you want to put it in a shaded location and not on the wall so it it does not heat up itself in the sun and reads the air temp not the hot bricks of the wall behind!It quickly persuaded me to get some green house shading meash and verified I had got the amount of shading right.

I bought this to take the guesswork out of what temperatures my little 'blow away' archives during the day and more importantly the night. I was amazed at what temperatures the little thing achieved during the day, even on mild days where the weather forecast was 15 or 16 degrees the maximum temperature recorded in the little thing was well in the 80's!! (I might add I am new to growing veg!). Low temps have so far got down to just 4.7 degrees (so praying the don't go any lower!).When it came it looked a little cheap in the packaging but I have to say the display is crystal clear and as yet I have had no problems, I have also tested it against some other (normal) thermometers I have and I can report that this is very accurate. It takes a reading every 10 seconds. Once I popped the (supplied) battery in the back I then taped the compartment up with duck tape. I did this as I think if this awesome little thing has a weak point (what with high humidity levels etc) that will be it. Of course I wouldn't advise dropping it or submersing it in water but thats kind of common sense!.Take the guess work out of your 'temperatures guesses' and get one! I highly recommend it. As for longevity.... we will see!Thank You!

I have owned various electronic max/min thermometers over the past twenty years, and most were poor and flimsy, or fiddly to change the settings. This unit is sturdy and compact, a single button resets the max and min settings, and another changes from Centigrade to Fahrenheit. Apart from that it just needs a single HP7 type battery (one is provided). The display is clear, large and distinct, and it was easy to fix to the wall through the single screw hole at the top.I really like this product and was impressed that it was delivered to me in France a mere couple of days after my order, a day earlier than promised.I have bought this one to monitor the temperature changes in the new conservatory I have just finished building. I think I may get a second one for my large polytunnel but I doubt if it will stand up to the extremely humid conditions over the long term.
