Product description ------------------- Model Rocket Shop says that this is the best starter set for beginning rocket builders The Alpha III set is for beginners who want to build AND fly rockets. The kit goes together in under an hour. The critical fin assembly is pre-fabricated so the hard part is done and it will fly straight as a die. Give the glue a half hour or so before you fly it, though, eh? ;-) All that is needed to get this set built in under an hour is some glue (polystyrene plastic cement, CA gel or aliphatic resin glue) and basic modelling tools. This is no dinky back garden rocket it needs plenty of space to return safely by parachute. Building your own rocket gives you much more satisfaction at the end of your successful flights! You'll need the right glue to build a strong rocket: both plastic cement and wood glue are required. CA gel can be substituted. The Alpha III is a venerable Estes design that will fly on almost ANY 18mm rocket motor: As, Bs or Cs. And you can get up to 1000 feet altitude with a C motor.
