Nice unit when you don't want a CD player
Fitted well in my Swift caravan as an upgrade to the previous non DAB unit. With standard ISO connectors nowadays its mainly plug and play, long gone are the days in the 80's of crimping every cable when you change a car / caravan stereo.Unit works well. With so many functions it can be a little confusing with so few buttons to chose from, however I think the is the same for most of these type of stereo systems that are not inbuilt into a car dashboard.

Good short-chassis radio.
Good radio and quality is as good as expected. Only shortcoming is the DAB aerial connector/adaptor. In order to connect DAB aerial needed to buy and additional adapter. Thus 4* instead of 5*.

Its a stereo
Swapped out a standard Kenwood from a company van with this. Slight upgrade and the difference is the Bluetooth works!Does its job and had no complaints so far.

Kenwood car radio
Well constructed, plug and fit. Reception seems ok. My only issue are the very small control buttons on the face. Very difficult to see and use, but I have got used to them.

Deaf as a post receiver. Appalling customer service
This looked good on paper but the reality was quite different. The unit was installed using a standard fit amplified dual band FM/DAB roof antenna. (BMW)Reception was OK on FM but DAB was hopeless, it wouldn't even lock on to local stations. The unit continually scanned every time it was switched on, never retaining manually stored stations and the volume came on at a frightening level when it eventually it did find a station. It was suggested that the cars stop/start system may be causing loss of memory but I find that strange as a radio should be able to retain its memory even if the battery was disconnected for a short time. However, in an attempt to resolve the issue the permanent supply wire was made using a direct connection to the battery. This didn't solve the problem.Kenwood are one of these organisations that don't offer a telephone help line and hide behind a complicated web contact with "tickets" and reply (eventually) by emails from a "noreply@" email address. They were useless, the first email said they were closing the ticket as I hadn't replied, which I had done. Then the "customer service" person took offence at a mild criticism of the service and used this as an excuse to shut down the "ticket".I returned the unit and bought the Alpine equivalent which works great.Perhaps Kenwood should stick to selling Food Mixers.

Unit was faulty
Having correctly wired the unit in to the car and set it up in accordance with the user handbook it did at first work correctly. However, on turning on the ignition the following day a miswiring error message appeared preventing me from powering up. After removing the front panel and resetting the unit, it then powered up and worked normally. This same problem occurred every time the ignition was switched on after several hours of being turned off. If the ignition was turned off only for a few minutes, the problem didn't occur. Extremely frustrating. The user handbook is not the best either. Unit was returned for a refund.
