Takes a bit to figure it out, but we'll worth it
You must read the instructions and practice on a piece of waste carpet first. You still need a Stanley knife for initial trimming. Then use this wall trimmer for a tidy finish. Great tool. A must have if fitting carpets

Good handy tool
Great carpet cutter I initially bought it for working in new builds so as to not catch the skirting with my normal knives.

No spare blades ! Takes practice to operate.
Came without any spare blades..... These blades are not as common as the ones fitted in "Stanley" type retractable blade knives. Ie not so easy to purchase low quantities. The tool works.....but...takes practise and care to learn. Once learnt, ok for longish straight cuts. Clean out the blade area (carefully) every M or so.Tool is suited to DIY. Pro fitters have experience and confidence to cut long edges almost freehand cause thats there skill.

Good but not perfect
Once you get a good run going it does a great job of fast accurate cuts.Recommend testing on a bit of cutoff put in place before you commit to your carpet. It does take some time get set as it seems to be designed by someone in 1950, all loose plates & shims to fiddle with. It's not something you can reset for another carpet as you walk into a different room, think old school stanley knife level tech. If you sneeze at the wrong time the bits are all over the floor.Mine came with tiny b&w guide which was for a different model. 1 blade supplied.A wide throat is needed for stiff carpet, so reduce the shims to balance out. Needs a hearty push & lift cuttings away with your offhand.

A brilliant tool a must if your fitting carpets on a regular basis, saves so much time an absolute must. Once you put the spacers in the right position, cutting carpets to the right size when using gripper rods is a doddle. but be warned if you slip it will keep cutting!

My husband said its a time saver and works on linoleum as well. He is a professional floor fitter. He said it gives a clean cut on carpet. The product already comes with an installed blade. We bought a spare pack of blades for later.
