Not 100% sure I am picturing the issue correctly. In the end though if you have a digital audio signal coming out of any source and use the splitter it will take that single optical digital port and turn it into two optical digital ports. Then you should be able to plug your two devices into the two ports. Good luck with it. By the way it is working fine for me. Took a single digital output from my pc's sound card and turned it into two with no drama at all.
