Works well.
These are super sharp and work well on our farm. They are easy to open and close and easy to clean. They are easy to use. They have a good weight to them and fit well into what we needed them for.

Slick little knife set
UPDATE: My mom still loves the scalpel kit and uses it daily. She also bought one for me. I've been using mine as a box cutter and craft knife for cardboard, which is bad for the blade yes, but - it can just be swapped out! That's the beauty of a scalpel - you can get a different blade shape or a brand new blade whenever you want. When you move on from one craft to another, the knife can move on with you. It'll never sit collecting dust because it can become just about whatever knife you need it to.I got this for my mom, who is a taxidermist. She wanted a folding scalpel so she could get better organized and have less blades lying around her table. Not only does this scalpel solve that problem, it comes with a metal case. So it's a complete kit - it has storage for everything. The scalpel is a friction lock, so it does not go totally rigid. If you press on the back of the blade, it will start to fold in. So it takes a bit more skill to use this knife, but you can also lean on it with your thumb. I think it would be a good whittling or carving knife.Overall, it's a good gift and it pulls its weight very well as an EDC item. Many people like making survival kits out of small tins, and this set here is a good start for a kit like that. It's very hard to do better than this for ten bucks.

Nice utility knife
Cons -1. Not a flipper. Requires two hands to open.2. Not a frame lock. Blade does not lock forward securely. In the wrong situation, it could collapse on your fingers. An unlikely but possible scenario.3. Knives without the above 'cons' are available at only slightly greater cost.4. Suitable only for slicing. The blades fracture very easily if used for any other purpose. True of all scalpel knives.5. The 'clip' is far too tight to slide over most anything. Who would use the clip anyway?Pros -1. Very inexpensive.2. Very sharp (it's a scalpel).3. Replacement blades are very inexpensive.4. Very small. Keychain appropriate.5. An excellent utility blade to keep in your console or on your keychain. Don't be without one or it's equivalent. Conclusion -A good buy. Buy several and and share them with friends.

Scalpel with spares sized for pocket or keychain
This is item reminds me of a gentlemen's keychain knife but carries a presumably standard scalpel (spares included). It is well made with a good folding action and includes a key ring and even a shirt pocket clip in the design. I've looked for a complaint and I just can't find one. If you need to carry a scalpel for emergencies, this could be one way to assure you have it on you. Handle with Care of course. A scalpel is surgically sharp and not for fidgety kids. (Note: Scalpel blades are changed as one would do with a utility knife.)

Will not fit typical standard surgical scalpel blade used in the United States
This thing is cool however a standard surgical scalpel blade used in the United States will not fit on this the groove is much larger than the regular standard. It does come with blades that fit but the standard ones will not. You can see the size difference in my pictures one of them is a regular number 10 scalpel blade the slot cut out in the blade is too small to fit this handle.

Always sharp!
The only thing I don't like is there is no lockblade, you can replace the blade so you always have a sharp blade. Perfect for pocket or crafting, I bought a few of these and it comes with replacement blades to start you off.

VERY SHARP BE CAREFUL
The quality is OK but the finish is rough in a few spots however this does not affect the functionality. The #23 scalpel blades are extremely sharp so be very careful. This is good to have in your toolbox or EDC kit and it will last a long time.
