If your prints have a poor finish and look like something is trying to escape through the top surface or the filament extruding makes a popping sound you may have damp filament. I did and now my prints are great again, I use this every time I open a new reel or if I leave a reel out in the air. It uses little electricity and is quiet in operation. It does have a annoying display flicker every few seconds, looks like a display update issue. I don't watch it so not a problem for me. It vents the hot damp air out of the top of the case so don't cover it. You can use it to feed filament out through several holes in the top case, handy but I don't use that feature. It dries two reels at once (only if they require the same temperature). The manual is useful and has a table of time and temperature for each type of filament.

As other reviewers have found, this thing tops out at about 50°C, not the 70°C as advertised. After running for 14 hours, when set to 70°C, the air inside the box is only 52.8°C. I measured this at the top and bottom of the filament rolls, with the lid in place, and probing through the top and bottom grommet holes with a K type thermocouple. The dryer display dutifully alternates between 69 and 71 degrees, but in actual fact, it's only 53°C. Until recently, I only used this dryer for PLA, so 50°C was okay. However, for drying PETG (as I want to now), this device is useless. I've had it a year, so will have to suck it up and buy a more suitable product. I've stuck a label on it now (PLA ONLY) to remind me.

Bought this at the same time as my Nylon-CF filament.So far it’s really good, took a little while to learn the settings but the instruction booklet is very helpful with clear instructions and temps for types of filaments.Really like the duel filament capacity so can hold two filaments while drying one which is very helpful.Design is very good and feels quality. Will have to use for a long period of time to see if it lasts but so far it is very good and heats up quick.

Absolutely a game changer. Many prints done and much better finish. I pondered for ages if I should get this. Very happy customer

Temperature display is a total lie when the target is anything other than 50 degrees.If i set the target temperature to 65 degrees, the thermostat shuts the heater off at 50. This can be proven by turning the unit on, reading the ambient / current temperature (20 degrees) updating the target to 65, the ambient / current temperature jumps up by 15 degrees. I have 2 units that do this, both behave exactly the same way. independent temperature sensor inside the housing indicates 5o degrees is the max temperature, irrespective of target.

I loaded the filament dryer with a reel of nylon. Put two temperature probes inside, one at the top and the other at the bottom, set the temperature to 70 C and the timer to 12 hr. I then monitored the temperature readings after 1,2 and 5 hours, they were so low I doubted both my thermometers. The maximum reading was 53 C for the top and 59 C for the bottom. I checked both thermometers using boiling water and ice and they both proved to be within 2 degrees of 0 and 100. I then removed the filament and tried to print a benchy the results were not good indicating that the filament was still not completely dry. To eliminate the possibility of bad filament I dried the same reel in a fan oven at 70 C for 10 hours and repeated the benchy, this time with much better results. I concluded that the unit did not reach the requires temprature by a considerable margin and therefore is usless as a filament dryer. If you need a filament dryer and most 3 D printers do DO NOT BUY THIS ONE!!

The temperature control on my example is way off. The display says that the internal temperature is 65 degrees. My thermometer says its 45 degrees.The timer has just quit I set it to 48 hours yesterday and it still says that there are 48 hours left to go.I've also had one occasion where the display said the internal temperature was 65 degrees, but there was no heat on at all.

la he comprado para trabajar con pc y naylon, y no llega a alcanzar la temperatura de 70 grados centrigrados, no pasa de 43 grados,( con un termometro externo) aunque en el led de la maquina marca 70 grados, no la recomiendo

Ich hatte schon seit längerem einen Filamenttrockner für eine Spule, mit diesem war ich eher weniger Zufrieden, da das Trocknen sehr lange gedauert hat, bei diesem ist dies nicht der Fall, da sich im Boden ein Lüfter befindet, welcher ständig neue trockene Luft aus der Umgebung durch das Gehäuse bläst. Dies hat zur Folge, dass die feuchte Luft aus der Trockenkammer gedrückt wird. Dadurch ist der Trockenvorgang viel effizienter und schneller. Das Gehäuse ist rundherum solide verarbeitet und wirkt durch das Metall am Fuß unten sehr hochwertig. Ich habe jetzt ca. 10kg Filament mit diesem Gerät getrocknet und kann es nur weiterempfehlen.

Ik kocht deze drogerbox voor mijn filament. Dat doe de box uitstekend. Een tweede toepassing die ik voor deze box heb: Ik eet graag droge droge worst. De meeste die ik koop vind ik echter niet droog genoeg. 5 uurtjes op 35 graden en de worst is precies zoals ik hem graag heb. Ben er zeer tevreden over.
