I loved the way Comer explains how to be a disciple of Jesus. He doesn’t just tell us to follow the disciplines of reading the Bible and praying. Of course those are part of the process, but there is so much more! This book gives practical advise, but more than that, it explains a life-long process of becoming like Jesus. I loved every page, and it helped me change my perspective on life with Jesus.

It’s hard to understand the first few chapters. It gets easier to understand and follow as you get farther into the book. It’s a bit daunting in the beginning. It was hard for me to keep reading, but I was part of a book club so I needed to finish it. Overall it was a good book. I love the message. The practices are very understandable and practices. I reccomend this book to other with the preface to them to keep plowing though it, at it gets better. We are following the practices and are online with them following his program. Google Practicing the way to find the companion program. You’ll love it.

This is a fairly easy read, yet has so much to consider and use as talking points. Comer points out an obvious weakness in Christian churches today - the so what? what's next? now what? for those who long to walk with Jesus. I've sent copies to my grown children which we've used as a platform to discuss what it means and practically speaking looks like to be a Christ follower right where we are. Highly Recommend!

Another great read from JMC! Bought this book for my husband because he’d mentioned wanting to read it several times before it was even released but I ended up reading it as well. Not quite as directly applicable as some of his other books, but provides a great framework for practices/spiritual disciplines to incorporate into our lives to follow Jesus more closely and written with so much grace and humility! He directly quotes another preacher, teacher, author, etc. A LOT throughout the book, which was not my cup of tea and made the writing a bit choppy in my opinion. BUT, overall worth the read and I’ve already identified areas of my life I can surrender more to the Lord and practices I can work on adding to my daily rhythms.

I was introduced to John Mark Comer when a friend of mine purchased the hard cover book for me. I am a Kindle lover as it allows me to take ALL of my books everywhere I go.With that, I purchased the Kindle version of this book!The book is so good and makes complex theology simple. You can read this book quickly and then see so much more the second time around and wonder how you did not see that the first time. I will continue to come back to this book again and again.I would have given this book 10 ⭐️ if possible!If you are ready to be with Jesus throughout your day and be like Jesus in all your ways then this book is for you! In the end, you will learn how to become like Jesus in all that you do and say!
