Single to Double Socket Converter 1G - 2Way White Plate - GVC

Bought the item to upgrade my mothers lack of sockets in her flat. Told her I could fit it in less than five minutes, did just that.Great value, speedy delivery and an absolute doddle to fit. Works a treat and a very happy mum.

These convertor socket back box are a very easy & convenient way to increase your power outlets.I have used them many times in the past, when they were made by well known brand manufacturers. The boxes were slim & robustly made & they matched the double socket exactly.However, the more recent offerings are not, so robust, slim, or match the socket face in colour or shape, though they are cheaper!!I can hear you readers saying, It's your own fault; "you only get what you pay for". Which is true of course, but they were the only ones I could find, since all the usual stockists just don't anymore!I received 3 units & one box was broken, which was quickly replaced by the seller.In summary they work ok, though tight when inserting or removing plugs. I would recommend not to over-tighten any screws, as the metal frame will bend into the host recessed socket box unless it is flush to the wall, & you don't often see that.If you do decide to double your socket, please remember to isolate the 230acv. before commencing any work on the circuit.

I only bought this convertor because I have a single socket wanting to change to a double one.The problem I had the two screws are at top and bottom to keep the socket in place rather at the side where they normally are.So I unscrew the metal place on the converter 90° and presto it work.Be aware if you are use this product you might want to get a double socket connect in the middle rather at the side as some of double socket do.

Not the best quality item but for the price you can't complain, you get what you pay for. One of the sockets I'd received shattered when I tried unscrewing the screw due to it being to tight. I contacted the company and they got a replacement send to me quickly without a problem. Very happy with the customer service I received. Would use this company again.

You get what you pay for, these were cheep and very poor quality . Arrived damaged, and two have already failed.

I bought this to replace a single socket which was recessed into the wall. The back box of the item works well but I found that the faceplate gripped plugs too tightly and the first time I used it I nearly pulled it off the wall. Luckily I had an old faceplate from a no longer used outlet and used that.I consider the product reasonable value as the backplate did what it was supposed to do and that was what I needed most.

Out of around eight of these that I have purchased, three have had issues. One was delivered with a broken segment, not suitable for installation. One cracked under a tiny amount of pressure as I screwed a faceplate in. And a third was delivered without the lugs allowing me to screw the faceplate in. Although they have just about done the job, I am not very happy with the installations and thus I cannot recommend these.
