Perfect.
Amazing! This is exactly what we needed to set up for our chickens who free range. It is a huge amount of space with just one, I was worried I needed to buy two to get my entire space done but they have tons of room! I may be buying another one here soon but its definitely not necessary for our 15 chickens. Plenty of space to be outside and get all the grass and bugs! Its sturdy and it was very easy to set up. My husband and I did it in about two hours but it would have been faster if we didn't have uneven terrain. We have already had 35mph winds and it hasn't moved at all. We do not have it hooked up to electric because we don't have a problem with daytime predators, the chickens get locked in the coop at night. The birds walked the perimeter checking out their new fence and without clipping their wings they totally respect the fence and nobody is trying to hop it. They try to stick their heads out of the holes and can't get out and walk away haha! I saw some of these non electric options for the same price and I believe one day we will hook it up to electric and I like that I now have that option instead of investing in another brand where if I did end up needing electric I would have had to buy a entire new fence. It works great and was definitely worth the money to cover such a large space to contain our chickens. Since this one is black and dark green it blends in wonderfully with the outdoors and its hardly noticeable at all. Big bonus and what I was looking for! A beautiful, well made and effective moveable chicken fence. 10/10 will buy again. The only con was the wait for shipping but it was worth the wait.

This thing is THE answer
Here in Florida We have a rodent we call tree rats. They are actually a fruit rat. They never come inside a home, but gather and try to live under anything they can. We also have squirrels. They both were attacking our TiKi hut. The squirrels were making holes in our screens and storing their nuts inside. The tree rats were living underneath the decking. We tried everything. This Happy Henhouse device was easy to install and once I plugged it in, ALL those pests were gone and won't go anywhere near our TIKI hut or her flower pots near the TIKI hut. Not one. It only took my wife and I a few hours to successfully install it. Also this company was great and answered and even called me right back to answer my questions. I highly recomend.

Great buy
This fence is working great. You have to make sure you anchor the corners really well or it droops. I have had issues with grass touching the second line and causing the solar generator to pop, but it has never grounded out to the point where it doesn’t shock. It definitely would work best on an even landscape. Mine is partly even and part on a hill so that is part of the issue. But I would definitely buy again.

What a great device!
I've had tomatoes all summer thanks to this charger keeping the squirrels and rabbits away. Has not killed any wildlife, thankfully, but kept them out of our garden. Works great! Garden is on side of house so we keep the charger indoors and run two small wires to the outside of house and to garden.Unit directions suggest dedicated grounding rod which is very easy to do. Just pick up a copper grounding rod or chunk of copper plumbing pipe from home canter and pound into ground. Easy to do and safer to keep from using home electrical ground.I tested the jolt by placing bare food on turf and then touching electric fence and oh boy, can you feel it. One test enough for me. Works great -- must scare the crap out of any critter encountering for the first time.

Have three of these for the hens. So this is a positive long-term review.
I do not use the electric function of these fences for the hens. My hens come in at the first hint of evening, so no predator issue. The hens do not require electricity on their side of the equation. Hens have a complete respect for "floppy" fences and will not try to jump onto a "floppy" fence like this. A hen will jump up onto a firm wooden fence 5 feet high though. But she will not jump onto a floppy type fence. Hens are very intelligent and they know what's what. So, wherever I want the hens to free range, I just move these fences around. I always have shrubs within the fence so there are hiding places for the hens. Chickens want underbrush to rest under and roll around under with their friends. These movable fences work perfectly. I have had two of mine for several years and they are great.

Just plug it in
I use it to electrify an electric net fencing around my garden to discourage wood chucks, raccoons, deer, etc.. After installing the fence, I hooked up the positive and ground. I tested the current with an inexpensive $16. electric fence voltage tester. The charger delivers an approximately 5,000 volt pulse which reads consistently throughout the length of the fence. That sounds like a lot. It will startle but not hurt you. Same with the woodchuck. It is essential to the operation of the system to follow instructions for your fence and the charger, especially effectively grounding the fence. Most of your work will be in installing the fence. The charger will do its job. BTW, as per instructions this and most chargers need to be rain sheltered, either by building a housing or by locating the charger in a shed, garage or similar.
