Q: Are these pills 1000mg each or 500mg since the serving size says 2 but the front of the bottle says 1000mg?

To answer your question, I looked at my bottle of Acetyl L-Carnitine and noticed that the supplement facts on the back of the bottle stated that the amount per serving is 1000 mg and that the serving size is 1 tablet, with a serving per container 120 tablets. I didn't see a serving size on the front of the bottle but I did see the statement that it is 1000 mg and that the bottle contains 120 tablets. So, it appears that the tablets are definitively 1000 mg each. Great question! I hope that this helps. :-)

Not sure, it just say "vetgetable cellulose" as on of those ingredients.

Q: What size and shape are the tablets?

They are oval, abut 3/4 X 1/8 in. Not the easiest thing to take, but smaller than the big fish oil tabs that I take.

Q: someone told me this is good for weight loss...is that true?

it helps with energy production. so for me having more energy for my workouts produces the weight loss. my wife takes it for her fibromyalfia nerve pain.
