Important soundtrack to my youth
This album has been with me since my teenage school years during the nineties. I consider it to be important as it brings back memories but also the fact that there are not if any artists who can compose music like Vangelis. The most comparable I think would be the equally talented Jean Michel Jarre. Vangelis has a knack of evoking emotions from his listeners. The first track which is end credit theme to Bladerunner demonstrates this I feel. It has the motion and speed to transport the listener to a scene where they are escaping heinous enemies and you can sense the urgency and drama. But essentially all the tracks are dramas encapsulated in sound. My other go to tune is the end title to Mutiny on the Bounty. You can almost feel the swaying of the ship from side to side. The crescendo building up to the soft chime is joyous and you certainly can feel a sense of glory being captured. The theme from Missing is just that. There is a sense of loss but at same time almost a degree of hope amongst the despair. The most well known may be the theme from Chariots of Fire. The music juxtaposes the slow composition with that of the speed of action as the athletes run their race. This may be better captured if the listener has the opportunity to view the film itself. I purchased this in vinyl and did not mind the fairly high price. I didn’t think that it would be available in LP after all it is almost 35 years since initial release. The seller stated that it was in new condition but upon receiving it I noticed that the cover was worn and slightly marked. But the record itself was in pristine condition and played perfectly so I have no complaints. All the songs on the album are unique in their individual way. Whether you want to relax or have it as background music this album does both equally well.

Sublime Vangelis
Okay so I had this back in the day in the 80's on cassette tape as it was the ONLY release which had the Original recordings of Bladerunner End Titles and Rachel's Theme. There WAS no OST available only an Orchestral LP featuring the LSO I think but NO Original Vangelis Synth. So, I bought this and wow, I was blown away by his sweeping landscapes and beautiful music. The theme from The Bounty is also amazing as is the Oriental stuff. Anyone into film music or any kind of Ambient or Progressive House music should own this album. It's sublime music.

Quality sounds
Well, it's Vangelis. I don't have to say much more. Genius at his craft. Have been a fan since my teens.

Great service and great album
Bought a used version from Books&Bobs, delivered very quickly and well packaged, put straight on the turntable this morning. This is a great package of the well known, and less so, Vangelis theme tracks.

for you will be glad you did
Music to contemplate; all the lyric other-worldliness of L'Apres-Midi d'un Faune. Sublime, and the recording is pin-point sharp. With hindsight, at the crazy price I paid for it here I would have though myself an idiot not to have taken a chance and bought it. I commend you all to do the same, for you will be glad you did.

Very Good Music
Very nice music easy to listen to with some very well known tunes not to be missed...So just to add that this is not rock an roll or pop .But more of classical music I have four Vangelis albums and each well worth buying for the mood of the tunes very relaxing

Vangelis is one of those funny musicians to me I mean I might have absolutely admired him yesterday though today he is just alright and tomorrow my taste for him may well changed again .I personally think his hay day was in the eighties
