This lock had worked very well over the last couple of years. It’s much more sturdy than the handle lock on the door. I have an irrational fear of someone picking my door lock to get into my room while I’m sleeping so this lock is mostly for my peace of mind.

Works well and easy to install. Our 3yr old was taking it upon herself to open the external doors to go outside without an adult so we ordered these to better secure the doors. We were able to place them out of her reach and she hasn’t figured out how they work yet but they are easy enough for our 7yr old to operate if needed. They look nice but they are more silver than nickel they don’t match our nickel hardware but it doesn’t bother me. Best of all we didn’t have to drill any holes in our new doors or the trim! The only negative we experienced was we left the one on the front door locked and went out in our backyard my daughter locked the knob lock on the back door and pulled it shut behind her so we were completely locked out. We have a keypad on our front door but it’s useless if this lock is in the lock position the door doesn’t even open an inch. Lesson learned unlock the front one or a window before we go in our back yard

Well, the 3 pack for my selection is a returned product that only includes one sets of screws. It uses 3 in long screw for secure installation, thus I have to find extra screws to finish the installation.If you got a 3 pack new with enough long screw, it is a best-buy.This style of door lock is much more expensive than old style chain latch. It also won't allow door to be half opened. However the easy to use and sturdy makes it worth the switch. Highly recommended.Note there is a small notch for easy sliding. Not all similar products has that notch.

I have installed these on every door around my home that has access from the outside. These are fairly inconspicuous if paired with paint correctly... They are pretty easy to use, but I've noticed older people and children have a hard time figuring out the mechanism for pulling across then back to open it up. So in a way it could be used as a child safety lock. These are definitely stronger than the chains that used to put to keep people out... I only gave this 4 out of 5 stars because the edges on this particular brand are slightly sharp... They don't cut my hands but compared to others my friends have this one is sharper and not as rounded. I do still recommend these as they don't only work, but they look good too!

I went out and got a little bit thicker 3" screws from home depot, replaced all the screws from this box, and replaced he door frame and hinge screws with the 3" screws as well, door is a lot more sturdier, also added a striker combo plate, door doesn't move at all, you need to push the door in to unlock the deadbolt, there's pressure on the deadbolt against the striker plate and it wont open easily unless you push/pull the door. This piece helps with a little bit extra security. At first this piece was interfering with the door and the door wouldn't close, it would hit this metal piece, so when i screwed in the 3" screws in the hinges, (frame and door side) my door was free and clear of this piece, so make sure you replace all your screws, mine were all lose :0

These latches are really heavy built and I really have no doubt that they make my home more secure. I put them on all my outside doors including kitchen to garage. Very easy to install if you can turn a screwdriver. I would recommend a power driver as the screws are 3 inches long. They have pretty strong springs so you need a good grip to unlatch them. Should one break or stop working for some reason, I will reorder, but I doubt that I will ever have to reorder. They are solid built.

Just installed these on my door!! Really great product, easy to unlatch, once you know how!!It was easy to install....secures the front and back doors with an absolute rock solid closing!! Sent one to another person that needed an extra closure on their door.Excellent gift... especially when people have seen it work on your door..

Our home didn't come with any deadbolts and this product makes me feel just as safe as if we had deadbolts AND it doubles as a childproof door lock to boot! I found it's easiest to use 2 hands to open (and will teach the grandmas this trick). Very sturdy and easy to use and install.
