Going to take practise
I've struggled for a time due to spinal issues to be able to reach to wipe myself, to feel completely cleansed after toileting. After taking time comparing the various brands of similar looking contraptions I decided on this one. It's well packaged and easy to grip and to use the release mechanism, which inflates a bladder style arrangement at the crevice where the paper is held. The paper I'm currently using is thin 2 ply so likely I'll need to play around with amount or the thickness, but, even with the initial teething problems with the tissue being thin, I was impressed with the reach and dexterity of this item for it's intended use.The recommended amount of tissue is six squares which are then folded over, one end inserted into the crevice, wrapped around the end, then the other end tucked in to same crevice. The end is completely wrapped in paper and you use the non crevice side to wipe yourself, ideally from between your legs in seated position. After wiping, the release mechanism at the end of the handle is easy to depress and with very little help (maybe a quick slight shake if stubborn) the tissue is released.A simple yet effective design, easy clean, though was confused with the washing instructions saying do not immerse in water. However, a wash over with mild soap and water and thorough dry is sufficient between uses to keep it sparkly clean.Would recommend this one, just be patient with getting used to the amount of paper needed to ensure it remains and does not tear mid wipe. Everyone's preference and toilet paper brand and thickness will be different.

Easier for women than men!
A good friend of mine recommended me this device to clean my bottom with as she had found it very easy to use but even though it grips the toilet paper or wet wipes quite well and drops them well afterwards into the toilet I found it difficult to navigate around my private parts which is bound to more difficult for me rather than a women. So if your a lady go out and buy it but for a man less easy for you!!!

No Good
Not GreatI bought this because I have had to have surgery in my right dominant hand and I thought it would help!It doesn’t,the wrapping round of the loo roll is awkward when trying to tuck it in the narrow slit.As soon as you touch anything with it the paper moves and the the wiper bit is exposed. As for pressing the button to drop the soiled paper in the koi, forget it, it just does NOT do that so you have to lay the thing down and physically off with the same hand you were using it with.I had 2 surgeries in one a trapeziectomy and carpal tunnel and it was drummed into me at the hospital not to use the my hand for anything as there is a lot of healing and all I am allowed to do is take my splint off for exercises. This thing is very inadequate and very very unhygenic and that’s putting it mildly!.Please don’t waste your money

Useful, though not 100% reliable
As someone who is disabled (with MS) and has difficulty both standing and gripping things, I am always looking for things that may make my life a bit/lot easier. So when I saw this gadget and the reviews, I thought it might be useful for my needs and it was worth spending £13 to see if it would work for me. The first few uses of it have proved that it is quite useful and mostly does the job that it is designed to do. Certainly attaching toilet paper to it is easy and it does hold it. But the latter bit of the last sentence is the problem. It holds the paper TOO well. In fact it is getting the gadget to let go of the paper that is one of the problems. I am repeatedly pushing the base of it, and I know it works as I can feel it pushing through the inside, but the paper just seems to cling on and will not let go. I shake the paper a bit, and have made a small pen mark at the base to show the side that has got the gripper on it, so the paper can try to drop out of the gripper when pushed, but still it is reluctant to let go.Incidentally, I have tried the gadget using both a cheap Supermarket's Own Brand and also the Market Leader (the one associated with cute Golden Labrador puppies). Both of these work the same with the device. But i am persistant, and will not be putting it back in its box any time soon. Maybe there is a knack for using it and that eventually, after quite a few goes, it will work every time and I will wonder what my problem was, though looking at other reviews I might not be so lucky. But I will keep on trying and hope that eventually it works every time.

Nope
After a knee injury I wasn’t able to twist and wipe (if you know what I mean) so needed a solution to maintain my hygiene! This got good reviews so ordered it. Unfortunately it just didn’t seem to do the job. Maybe I needed more practice with my wipe technique but I had trouble wiping well enough and the release? It didn’t work at all! The paper either didn’t hold or wouldn’t release. Fortunately within a day I was able to adjust my knee and go back to doing it myself. This has gone to the back of the cupboard and maybe in a few years when I’m old and infirm I will have to try again..
