never hesitate to buy winstnn graham..the more the betteri know he can'tread this now,but this is my fave series of ALL time..i am usually a crime thriller person, but THIS. first classfirst i was intimidated by howmany there ...i have never lasted past a book 3 other than shardlake cj sansom..need not have worried-sped through the first 6 books..like drinking water. you don't notice the 3000 or so pages go by..It has changed my mind on is independance of young adults- if his mum hadn't allowed him to stay at home and write for a decade (or more) with no income...we would NEVER have had these books..had she said "no, son, get to mcdonalds and work 12hr shifts and get a bedsit/flat" these would never have been around...a parent supporting her childs talent through adulthood is rare nowadays-and i always thought it was no good idea..but she obviously knew how talented he was..so, mother in the sky, thank you for being so generous and supportive of your adult son.

Detail, stories, characters. All of it. Dive in - you will want to go to Cornwall and never leave (and be thankful that when u do it doesn’t take a week of travelling to get to London)

THe Poldark series of books by Winston Graham have been my favourites since I was a teenager. I am now starting a course with the Workers Educational Association involving the Poldark Novels and needed to obtain them quickly for this purpose. I ordered them and they were delivered as promised before the start of my course.

I have watched the DVD series and enjoyed it. I wanted to have the story continued. I am thoroughly enjoying reading from the beginning, the entire series. Currently I am on book 3.

WOW!! This is another great Collection at a great price. I have loved the story of Ross Poldark and his wife, Demelza, their family, friends, and yes, even their enemies (here's looking at you George.), I am only sad that with this collection of books 7-12, that the series has come to a close. But, like all good things, I suppose too, so must this wonderful, wonderful story. I must say I enjoyed, "The Angry Tide", the most, followed by "The Miller's Dance", "The Loving Cup", and of course, the final installment, "Bella Poldark". "The Twisted Sword", was good and I enjoyed it overall, but I didn't like the characters leaving Cornwall for France, nor did I like what happened to them and those they loved, while they were there, and I was saddened by the loss of one of the major characters,whom we've gotten to know well, thanks to the prior books that lead up to this one. The least favorite for me of this set would have to be "The Stranger From The Sea", and the introduction of Stephen Carrington, I didn't like him at all. He was a bit too shifty for my taste, turns out there's a very good reason for the dislike. This review is getting rather long and I wish to avoid any direct spoilers, so I will end it here.

Great product

I have recently been to Scotland and bought the first six books in different stores at a higher price than this set. They were a little bit delayed but the packaging and the quality of the books and the paper is sublime. I would definitely buy again.

I am now on Book 8 of the 12 book series. It will sadden me to reach the end of the final book. Each page is a page turner...very difficult to stop reading so sleep can come. Descriptions of life in Cornwall in the time period is vivid and so real, I feel I'm personally witnessing each day and event in the lives of the Poldark's and their friends and not so friendly acquaintances. Fascinating.
