Ridiculously Cute
I can't express just how funny, cute and charming this game is.The game starts with the titular Little Kitty enjoying a catnap in his favourite spot- the window ledge of his top floor apartment in a high rise building in a Japanese city. Unfortunately, he stretches just a bit too much, causing him to plummet unceremoniously, though rather humorously, to the city below. Your main aim from there is to find a way back home. No easy feat when Kitty is too hungry to climb. On your quest to get home, you meet a vast array of animal characters- from Crow, who is always willing to help- for the right price, to the technology-mad Tanuki, to the poetry-loving Chameleon, who can't understand why Kitty can see through his invisibility, and many more. All guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.Kitty himself is absolutely adorable. Although he expresses a wish to ultimately get home, you can tell he's absolutely enjoying his adventure in the city and is just going with the flow.Fish will be your primary collectable- these give you climbing energy, and you'll need to find all 4 in order to have enough stamina to make the long climb home. You can also find "shinies", which are Crow's preferred method of payment, who will take them in return for another collectable- hats for Kitty. Some of these can also be found scattered throughout the city and all of them are adorable. There are also feathers, which Tanuki can use, somehow, to power up fast-travel points. The controls feel very nice and really make you feel like a cat- you can pounce, climb, meow, swipe items off shelves just because, and get under people's feet- Kitty is very fun too control. There are no real hazards in the game, so there's nothing that will hurt or kill you. At most, Kitty will jump back in alarm and disgust if he encounters water, dogs, and, rather humorously, cucumbers.Unfortunately, the game really isn't that long. It's extremely short if you choose to just get the fish and go home without doing much other exploring, but exploring the whole city to100% the game will take around 3-5 hours. I highly recommend you do this as you'll muss out on some really funny and charming objectives and dialogue otherwise. I would recommend you maybe wait for a sale because of this, as £30-ish for such a short game is a bit steep. However, the physical version does come with a really cute little instruction manual, a Lost Kitty poster, and code for downloading the digital soundtrack, should you wish to.Overall, despite its short length, I thoroughly recommend you give Little kitty Big City a go. It's absolutely oozing with humour and charm and is such a cosy little game.
