Small, good looking, rechargeable, plenty of light, great On/Off logic
I have had this light for only a few days and already I think this is a well designed, sturdy little flashlight. Small, attractive, enough power for most things I need a flashlight for with the ability to stick it (magnetic base) or clip it to something.I have a few of the inexpensive multi-mode flashlights with the switch in the end cap. What I dislike is having to cycle thru modes to turn it On or Off because it didn't come on in the mode I want. I particularly dislike turning on the old style and have it come on in Strobe mode! Not only that, but on many of these, the end cap switch gets sketchy after a while resulting in intermittent operation because the lamp current goes thru it. On this flashlight the switch tells the controller what to do and the logic is set up to be as simple as click On, click Off or pick and chose other modes if that's what you want. Single, short click ON. Single, short click OFF to use the last light and mode used is exactly what I want.

Slender and powerful
I am pretty impressed with this flashlight. Very slender and streamlined - perfect for sliding in a pocket in my purse. Makes it easy to find study in the bowels of my personal or work bag. I plan to order more to keep them in the car for safety reasons. It is very bright, adjustable brightness, and fast charging.

Great little light
I bought one of these as a Christmas gift for a coworker and liked it so much I bought my self one. It's a really handy little light, it's super bright, lightweight, compact and the clip allows you to put it on your hat or in your pocket. The red and blue strobe is a bonus. I would highly recommend this light for EDC. Oh it also has a magnet but it's like all the rest, use less

Good for EDC but not Perfect
I have several small EDC flashlights including a Streamlight Microstream, a Lumintop AA Tool 2.0, and my favorite is the Wurkkos TS10. Each have pros and cons, which is why I keep experimenting. This Klarus e5 is different in that it has a slim and flat profile rather than a AA or AAA battery tube design and it has a perpendicular or 90-degree light rather than inline. It does have an inline light as well, though it's a bit of an afterthought. The main light is the round one while the inline light at the top end is of rather limited use. Had it been lensed to offer a spotlight design with decent throw, it would have a purpose, but it doesn't - it's just another floodlight like the main lamp, but with less lumens and only offering a high and low setting. So, it really is quite pointless unless. The main round floodlight is pretty decent, offering just under 300 lumens on high. To get 470 lumens, you have to turn on turbo mode, which is a separate set of clicks (it doesn't cycle to that setting from low, medium, or high). All my tube flashlights will outperform the Klarus in terms of throw as they are spotlight designs, so when I need more power I'll grab the TS10.PROS:The main feature of this unit is the slim design. Simply put, I can slip it in a pocket and not know it's there... Except for the inch or so the top sticks up out the top. Deep carry is what I prefer, so I removed the stock pocket clip (3 small screws, not rivets thankfully) and repurposed an extra Microstream cip I had laying around by bending it to shape (see pics). That made this Klarus much less conspicuous and fashion friendly. The aluminum construction and anodizing is nice and overall it feels light, but not cheap. The magnetic tail is super handy and a feature lacking on most of my tube flashlights.CONS:Deep carry issues aside, the button placement is less than ideal due to being directly opposite of the charge port, which feels nearly identical. So you may have to look at the orientation of the light or press the rubber charge port cover before flipping it around to find the actual button. When pulled from a pocket, you'll remember the orientation and this is less of an issue, but it's still a poorly-thought-through design choice. The inline lamp needed to be a spotlight to be useful as I said before. So that is redundancy rather than a real feature. If it had a 470 lumen spotlight and a deep carry pocket clip, this would be an easy 5-star flashlight. But as is, it's a good 4-star unit and it's different enough than my others that it offers some benefit. However, the TS10 can be had for the same price (off Wurkkos' website) and it is a much more feature-packed light with twice as many lumens and way more features and settings.CONCLUSION:That said, the e5 is currently my main EDC simply due to the slim, flat design. The TS10 and other AA-sized tube flashlights are thick enough to feel in my pocket, which is fine when I'm working, but annoying for casual wear. So, the Klarus e5 is a nice addition to the family.

This thing is cool and fits anywhere, Pocket Find!
I just got my hands on the Klarus E5 Rechargeable Work Light, and wow, this thing is incredible! I can't get over how bright it is—470 lumens in such a slim and compact design is seriously impressive. This isn't just any flashlight; it's got 8 different modes, so it's ready for whatever you throw at it.The slim, flat design makes it perfect to carry around in my pocket without feeling bulky, and the built-in clip and magnet are total game-changers. I can attach it anywhere and keep my hands free, which is perfect for when I'm working on projects. And the best part? It’s rechargeable! No more scrambling for batteries at the worst possible times.Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. If you need a versatile, powerful work light, the Klarus E5 is where it’s at. It’s bright, it’s practical, and it’s quickly becoming my go-to for everything from DIY projects to just having a reliable light source on hand. Highly recommend!

Nice but needs work
Its form factor is appealing to me. Thin and flat with a sturdy clip for clipping it to shirt or hat brim. Makes it very useful. The magnet on the end is also a big plus for me. The light is bright and battery is decent. Now for what I don’t like. The position of the switch relative to the charging port with a rubber cover makes it difficult to turn on as there is no easy way to distinguish between the two. The magnet is held in by a thin plastic retainer that breaks easily, causing the magnet to stay behind when removing the light from a metal surface by pulling on it, the way you would naturally. When switched on for the circular side light, if left on too short a time, does not switch it off. Forcing you to cycle through its modes of different brightness, strobe and alternating blue red flashing.Relocating the charging port, retain the magnet better and improving the functionality of the switch between modes would make this a killer light.

Great product
This is the second one I have purchased. Small, lightweight, bright, and handy. Great tool to clip on your pocket. The second one was for my wife when she noticed how much I used it and how handy it was, she wanted one. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a compact light.
