ACTUALLY VERY GOOD FOR A TENNER
I wasn't expecting much from an MM phono preamp that cost just over a tenner (£10 GBP), imagine my surprise when I plugged it all in and found the preamp actually sounded very good. Not a great deal of difference to my way more expensive Cambridge Audio MMPhono Preamplifier.Could do with an anti-thump circuit on the power switch as you get a bit of a thump when switching the preamp on AFTER the main amplifier.Put it this way, I've ordered two more Pyle PP777 preamps on the strength of it.No doubt Amazon will put the price up now.

Great Value Kit
First impressions - a brilliant low priced piece of kit. I connected an old turntable to a modern amplifier and can now play vinyl again! Sound is OK but for just over £10 it is more than adequate. A great buy

Compact and works.
It would have got 5 stars if it had an on/off switch, but at this price I maybe being unreasonable Works well, but I still need to use a lot of top-end volume on the amp.

Preamp trial
Bought this item a my Denon didn't have a pre-amp. I've used it in conjunction with a ministry of sound turntable and a Denon amp, the sound is incredible. The box is well built. Highly recommend especially for the money

Although inexpensive let down by poor sound.
This is a relatively inexpensive unit. It's easy to use, attach the necessary phono plugs and earthing lead and you're good to go. I've recently brought back out my Thorens turntable with Mission cartridge and a good quality Onkyo AV receiver. I had high expectations that this combo would provide a decent quality sound into some Wharefdale speakers or my Beyer Dynamic Pro 770 headphones. Sadly I was disappointed with this unit on two fronts. The earthing point was a little iffy with the slightest movement of the box introducing noticeable hum. In itself the box wasn't 'noisy' in the hi-fi sense. What let it down for me was the overall sound quality. There as a muddiness to the midrange sound, with a bit of detail missing for sure. I also though the sound lacked the impact I was expecting. Having been disappointed with the unit, I decided to purchase another from another brand, (Behringer PP400). The Beringher is available from Amazon, although I was able to source it cheaper with another retailer even with the additional postage cost. This turned out to be around £9 more than this item, but the difference was night and day in terms of enjoyment and stereo separation. Amazon accepted my return for the Pyle which although seems well made with an adequate power supply wasn't up to snuff.

Great value.
Great value for money!I was worried that it was so cheap that it would be noisy. However for my daughter's set up, it was great! 😀

It's enough to get you going.
Simple to set up and use. I'm building a starter system for my son but I thought it would be interesting to insert it into my system. Goes between my venerable Wharfdale 2050 amp and my P3rs. Initial listening was positive because it's brighter than the phono stage on the Wharfdale but that brightness turned into a brittle jarring quality after only a few tracks. Not too worried with my son's system as it's feeding a NAD that's tonally on the warm side. You really can't complain at the price point but don't expect it to better Phono stages from likes of Rega and Pro-Ject
