Great for deterring birds from bathing in our pool and pooping on the patio around the pool!
These have been just what we needed! Our neighbor loves to feed birds and attracts large doves and pigeons in her yard and they make their way to my yard and pool. Out of desperation, we bought two of these to sit out at the pool on the beach entrance of the pool and the boulders at the other end to alleviate the bird poop problem we can't seem to solve as long as our neighbor feeds the birds. These devices have worked very well at keeping the birds from bathing and sitting at our pool edge. The solar panels work well and last a long time. We even had one land in the pool briefly at the start of a storm, and it still works! They are quiet and efficient.

Working great at detering birds from my dogs food / bowl
We have a guard dog at our work that stays outside, I couldn't understand how much I thought he was eating. I ended up getting him an automatic dog bowl / feeder as he eats the bowl continues to fill, every time I would come back from the weekend all the food would be gone, then I got him a bigger dog bowl that holds 10 pounds of food and still every time I would come back it would be all gone.I couldn't figure it out, I really thought he was eating that much since I don't know anything about dogs, never had one. Then I just started saying to myself that it can't be he's eating that much, he only eats twice a day when I'm there. I started noticing every time I pull in I see birds at his dog bowl and I see them eating his food. It sounds kind of crazy to me that these birds are eating 10 pounds of food every few days but, I figured it has to be the problem.I went online to find a bird repeller and at first I saw the ultrasonic ones thought that would work best but, they all have really poor reviews and so I was hesitant in purchasing that. Then I found this unit and thought I'd give it a try. It arrived the very next day after placing the order, first thing I did was when I was setting this up, I put in my own Energizer rechargeable AA which has more power than the rechargeables that it came with, I wasn't sure if there would be compatible issues or not but, I went ahead and did it. So I set this up on top of my dogs feeder / bowl, high enough to where he can easily go under there and eat without it bothering him or touching him.Since I have set this up 6 days ago, it has been running just fine and best of all it is working in detering birds. His dog bowl is still 3/4 full from 6 days ago, so it definately was the birds. The unit is still running just fine, I don't know if the solar is working or if it's the rechargeable battery but, I wouldn't mind just having to change the rechargeable battery now and then because this thing is working awesome, there aren't any more birds, when I pull in there aren't any birds. I remember the first day I set it up I saw birds were trying to come and eat something but they were staying away from the unit, I guess they weren't used to this thing and they wouldn't come near the food they were just sitting there in the parking lot but, now they are not coming at all.For my purpose this unit is definatley doing the job and repelling birds.

Works very well, but still overpriced imo
Writing this after one month of daily use. Has worked very well for the small beach entry on my pool. The arms fully extended cover the entire entry, but I would say if they didn’t, certain birds after a while were getting more bold and probably would’ve walked by it if they had room. So for me it works very well. After 1 month exactly the cheap no label rechargeable batteries didn’t work. Put good Energizer rechargeable batteries in it and good to go. Was very doubtful it would be charged enough to run through the night but it did and for one month at that. I think they are overpriced though and if you have a bigger space you’ll probably need more than one. No bird poop on my beach entry and no bird poop in the pool! I’m happy. I’m in AZ also, so I’m getting lots of sun.

The birds are in fact gone! See final note!
I have a pool with a raised spa that creates 2 waterfalls which is beautiful. I love the waterfalls and the sound the falling water. The neighborhood birds love it too as their personal bird bath. As a thank you for the bath, they leave me gifts on the desk. These are very unwanted gifts of poop that I had to scrub every day. After looking for bird and human friendly options, I ran across the Bird B Gone Bird Repeller. The first night I noticed a decrease in birds, but still had "gifts" the next morning. So since I have 2 waterfalls I bought another one and placed it by the other spillway. I have had little to no birds visit. Of course at first they were curious, even a few intrepid bathers brave the arms (which swing so gently it wouldn't hurt the bird only startle them). I don't mind the one or two poops a month vs 12 or more per day. My pool man thought I was crazy. Now he sees the difference and has recommended them to his clients that have similar bird problems. *** One of my repellers fell all the way into the pool and I found it at the bottom of the deep end. The description says it works in weather but do not completely submerge in water (or something like that). Well I can say I fished it out, let the water drain and it STARTED WORKING RIGHT AWAY. Now I don't know how long this will last, only that it kept on spinning. I have a replacement saved in my cart just in case, but I am beyond impressed.
