I like these in luminal cartridges, but the ink runs out so fast. I wish they had a larger ink capacity.Here’s what I like about them:- The blue is like a blue jean shade of blue. It’s nice and soft and perfect for swallows and other types of art. It’s not as dark as other brands.- the black is nice too and you can definitely use it for black and gray work as well.- when the cartridge is inside a tattoo machine pen, it actually makes it sound like a tattoo machine where as other brands I’ve used run quieter.- these blend! I have not seen cartridges that can actually blend but these do and I love that!- The pink is actually pink!What I dislike about them:- you run out of ink way too fast!- if you try using other brands on your art piece and then switch back to these, they kind of take that ink away. It’s strange, but that is what was happening to me and no, I was not blowing out the paper. I was using high GSM paper (the inlumino book actually.)- the yellow comes out looking dirty (see my pictures and that was used on fresh paper. I did not put it in any other type of ink or color beforehand.)I’m not fully in love with them yet because I had to use different brand cartridges to finish up my piece. But I do like the softness and the realism that the illumino shades bring.

Ink would dry out fast. Had to send them back. I was disappointed because I thought It was a cool idea.

Overall, I feel like it is a good entry into tattooing. From what I’ve read and watched about tattooing does not go hand in hand with these carts. I have to hold my machine at a 90° angle so I can get a clean dot on my paper. If I hold it at any more of an angle there’s a shadow to it making the line thicker and blurry.After a good amount of use, it starts to die out. To extend the life of the pen I’d blow air through the inkwell. I was able to get one 8x11 paper full of doodles and one 8x11 with a small detailed drawing almost finished with just one pen. A good amount of ink considering the size.I feel like it’s a good entry to getting use to your machine without having to break the bank on needles, fake skin, ink and all the other things to apply stencils. I would suggest using a thick paper. If you go over the same spot to black it out your paper will get overworked. Having something underneath your paper, like 2 more sheets, will help save your table and pen tip.
