Ghost Pepper and Hanabero Chernobyl Beef Jerky (8 Oz)

Let me first say that for flavor, I give this 4 stars, maybe even 5. It's got the smokiness of the ghost pepper with the slightly sweet taste of the habanero (not hanabero, like the typo in the item listing) and the flavor is blended quite well. It's very hot, but with purpose and the flavor really comes through. It's not just hot for the sake of being hot. I have a very high tolerance for heat and it definitely got me going. For texture though, this jerky is a 2 star at best, maybe even 1 star. It is TOUGH! When I say tough, this jerky is like chewing on tree bark. I don't mind tough jerky in general, but I really hard a hard time with this. It wasn't so hard it was like a jaw breaker, but it's quite difficult to bite into and is a chore to eat. I got the 8oz so it's two 4oz packs. I haven't even touched the 2nd pack due to how difficult the 1st one was to chew. So to recap, 4-5 stars on flavor, 1-2 stars on texture, so a 3 star overall. BTW, a word of warning: It's very oily, and it seems like it's pretty much straight capsaicin oil, so use dish detergent to wash your hand thoroughly after, and don't touch any sensitive areas for a while.

I'm a huge fan of jerky. This product is not bad, but it is definitely being over-sold on the heat factor. Its completely tolerable without a beverage. It has an odd taste/smell. Not bad just not what one expects from jerky. It has the same consistency as Gold Rush jerky. I prefer my jerky tougher and dryer than this product. This is more on the moist/soft end of the spectrum, and for some reason it is very oily.

Had to get a ziplock back the pore Worcestershire sauce in to soak for a week. Taste great, but not quite the same taste that Im use too.

Great meat with a good taste. Starts out as great taste but ends in a very slight weird after taste, exactly like you get when you eat some jalapeno potato chips.
