It was a series of films on the US Navy's fleet of Ships, Airplanes, PBY's and Submarines. These films show our Navy's fleet in 1942 and before 1942. One of the major planes was the TBD Devastator. Thought to be a really great plane, it proved to be a disaster in the battle of Midway.1st Film: "Men of the Navy". This is the 1st of these films we have and it is about an overall view of men learning to be sailors. Really great film. 26:17 Min's2nd Film: "Ships of the Navy". This film show great footage of the US fleet just before 1941. From submarines, to Cruisers, to Battleships to Aircraft Carriers to Destroyers. This film explains there function. Great footage of the ships going through the Panama Canal too. Amazing stuff. 17:53 Min's3rd Film: "Airplanes of the Navy". This too is about the 1942 Navy and it's planes. Again, The TBD Devistator was viewed as a cutting edge torpedo dive bomber, but history revealed it's flaws. 21:21 Min's.4th Film: "Submarines of the Navy". When WW2 broke out, the pacific fleet was all but on the bottom of Pearl Harbor. 10:13 Min's5th Film: "US Navy Hands it Back". This one of the 1st films showing the US Navy in action in the Pacific war against the Japanese. 12:40 Min's6th Film; "Midway Dive Bombers". This is a film by us from a collection film clips that we have on the Famous Douglas Dauntless SBD and the Devastor TBD. 9:31 Min'sWe are a small American family business, (mostly father & son), that collect old films.
