This is a great product. I am a teenager with a black car and was looking for that finishing touch to set me apart from other cars. I found underglow online and ended up giving XKGLOW a shot. It's been almost 6 months and these pictures are very recent. The installation was easy, tricky part was running wires from the sides to the front and back to have all strands connected. I recommend watching planting of underglow installation videos if you're going to do it yourself. They are very durable, unlike some reviews have said. The wires have held up fine. I also recommend taping off all the connections with plenty of electrical tape.The control box is located under the steering wheel on the left side. There's is a wire that I ran through the plate along the floor of the car and down to the outside through the rubber lining in the door opening. It was tricky to find ways to wire everything, so this is best on a car that you own and is older. I drilled some holes to fit wires, but please I urge you don't drill a hole unless you know it is a safe spot and won't let water/dirt into the car.The power wire running to the control box was manually wired to my cigarette lighter. The firewall in my car was too complex to fish a wire through so I decided to just get power from an internal source. Like I said, please do your research if you're going to do it yourself.The product has worked perfectly and the price was one of the best on the market. Shipping was fast and it looks great on the car.

Ok so if you know how DC wiring works, you'll be fine with these. The drill bit that comes with the kit is flimsy - plan on using your own.Setup was ok... Kinda sucks not always having enough wire to set it up the same way. Wasn't the easiest installation but it wasn't hard either. More of a long and drawn out process which would go much smoother if more extension wires were included.The control switch that comes with the kit completely died on my channel 1. (There's 2 channels and each one allows the set to do a different pattern [and most likely splits the power so that it doesn't die like mine did] but since there wasn't enough extension wire, I was only able to run everything off one channel.The lights look great and the only thing keeping them from 5 stars is the control switch that comes with it. I think a higher quality control switch can really improve the product. The lights are amazing (yet my bed lights are brighter somehow!!?!?!!) and if you're thinking about buying these, just do it already!Just so everyone knows: the green lights that I bought look better in person than they do in the photos.

Read some reviews and people really need to learn how to work with wires before trying this product out and writing negative reviews about it. It is using LEDs which only need 9 volts to work, so the wiring is the typical made in China smallest gauge that every other made in China LED uses. It is not small in comparison to any other LED light, it is fact the standard, and it's not that hard to work with. You may have to cut and combine wires to get what you need. If so, know that these LEDs units work in one direction only, so if you reverse them (and it's hard to tell which direction is which with the ends cut off) they won't light-up. And as is for any made in China LED, you need to take 10 minutes to ensure they are water-tight by opening up the plastic tabs where the wires come out of the lights and putting "silicone II"caulk on the insides and then snapping the tabs back together. Now the lights should last forever even if soaked from a puddle.I purchased green as they are street legal in most states, and so far they have actually stopped cross traffic from pulling in front of me in my tiny car.

These lights look amazing. I had them on my car for around a year. I had all of the connections taped off and everything was secured well, but then we had an extremely harsh winter with lots of snow and ice and temperature changes and they completely mucked up the exterior lights. I was able to salvage a strip of 4 to use as more interior lights, but yeah I was sad that they didn't stand up to the winter but it doesn't suprise me. This is a good product but I'd be careful if u live in an area with rough winters.Also in ohio red blue and white lights are illegal for underglow on the roads, so if I was going to do this all over again I'd get a color changing set or a different color and make sure it can withstand crazier weather conditions.

Product works great but if you have a truck and want to mount the controller inside then all the wire extensions just aren't long enough. I had to splice the wiring myself. If they just included two additional extension plugs that were at least 3 feet long it would have worked out.Also the controller is very big, ugly and low tech compared to some other models. Most of the top brands give you a wireless remote now so you don't even need to pull wires through your firewall - that would have saved me 2 hours of labor.If they changed the controller then I would give it 5 stars

These lights are very bright and nice in person. I put them on my Fusion. I've received many compliments. I would recommend these lights to anyone that wants to put an underglow kit on their car. They are also waterproof. I went through many car washes, rainy and storming weather and all light bars continue to work.Installation was a bit of a drag. I had to cut some wires and rewire them. I secured all connections to help with waterproofing. Installation also take some time to do...though it is very easy.To add, make sure you read up on your state laws. Some states does not prohibit neon underglow while driving on the roads. Most importantly, majority of states does not prohibit the colors blue and red (emergency lights colors)...Other than that...the lights are great. I'm currently enjoying them. They are also great for car shows.
