Alas, can't use this with TiVo Edge
I regretfully had to return this unit, not because anything was wrong with it (it was exactly what I was looking for.)When I had my old TiVo Series 2, there were RCA outputs on the back of the unit which enabled me to record shows and segments to my DVD recorder. However, with my new TiVo Edge, there is only the HDMI output. I thought that with this accessory, I would be able to send the TiVo signal into my DVD recorder and record the same as before.Unfortunately, when I connected the unit (checking all the connections were in the proper place), all I got was a screen of colored bars and the message: No Signal.I emailed TiVo Support and explained what I was trying to do, and got the following response:This is a response to your concern regarding your TiVo EDGE. We understand that you wanted to save all of your shows to your DVD.However, the feature of saving shows to any third party equipment, or to an external recorder device is no longer applicable on the newest TiVo EDGE for cable. We used to have this feature before with the older units. TiVo EDGE has its own internal storage and we cannot transfer shows to a DVD player, laptop or a desktop. This is due to Copyright Protection policy (CPP). Technically, any third party external storage or recorder devices are not compatible with the TiVo EDGE.I'm sorry I had to return this unit. It was exactly what I was looking for. Nothing wrong with it, but TiVo won't let me use it.Thank you anyway.Sincerely,StevePalatine, Illinois

Works Perfectly
The media could not be loaded. Works great on my Toshiba 14AF-45 when connecting to my steam deck or roku. Image quality and sound quality is great and I do not notice any artifacting or lag.

Product works great except for the S-Video
The product consists of a single box with svideo plug and 3 RCA plug. The unit has a HDMI port for input and a micro-usb for power. There is a short usb cable to connect the box to the input and a longer usb cable and a power adapter. The unit has a single switch that toggles between NTSC and PAL. I only tested NTSC.For testing, I hooked up a Roku Streaming Stick 3800 to an ancient Trinitron CRT that as both a Svideo and a RCA input. The picture and sound were pretty good. The picture was not as good as direct connect to HDMI, but that is to be expected. However, I have notice that the Svideo isn’t all that great, the video appears to have a weird doubling effect, so all of the pictures appears to have a halo around it or like some sort of double-image. I ended up using the RCA.A tip about using this product. The svideo does not carry audio, so you must also hook up the two audio cable to get the sound. This should be obvious, but it’s been years since I hooked up anything analog. On the roku, I had to adjust the audio to only use stereo or a really annoying humming sound can be heard. All in all, the product works as advertise except may be for the Svideo.

Perfect transfer of hdmi to svideo or composite
Update: changing my review to 5 stars after fiddling with some other variables and I was able to discern a difference between the two outputs. This is an excellent and cost-effective method for getting an analog signal onto a CRT from a digital (hdmi) source. On top of that there is no latency, lag, or frame skipping occurring. Updated comparison images included (megaman x on SNES) note the color banding on leg versus the correct gradient provided between composite and svideo respectively.1st review:Bought to convert hdmi to s-video, but unfortunately the image clarity is identical to the single video signal from the RCA. Images are of the two 'modes looking at the same close up image from a SNES game. Will have to look for other options for getting s-video quality conversion from hdmi, but luckily this did not seem to add any input delay or latency.

Will not full screen on CRT TV
No matter what resolution you use, it has a good quarter inch at the top of the screen that isn't filled. This may not bug people but it does me. I bought this to use my PC with an older CRT television. After hours messing with settings, with this adapter it's just not possible to fill out the entire screen.

Terrible. Got two and neither worked.
The media could not be loaded. I bought one unit, which didn’t work. The replacement didn’t work either. On my CRT TV it shows randomly flickering colors over the picture (see the video I uploaded), and on a modern OLED TV it just says “no signal.” This occurred in both the composite and S-Video outputs. Both the original and replacement had the exact same issues, so it must be a widespread manufacturing defect. I’m very disappointed.

Did what I needed
I wanted to do some recording of programs from my Firestick and needed an adapter to go into my Panasonic DVD recorder. At first I couldn't get it to work which could have been my fault but I got a HDMI splitter and that seems to have solved the problem. I didn't set the recorder to "record" before using the splitter so I don't know if that was the problem but using the splitter allows me to send a signal to the TV and the recorder so they both don't have to be on just to watch TV. The signal to the recorder is noticeably lower quality than the TV picture but I expected that. I think the recorder operates at 480 and the TV is 1080p so there is a difference in sharpness but for just general viewing by old timers it works just fine. It is HDMI in and either S video or RCA plugs out so right there you know there will be some signal loss but as I say, still a viewable picture. A decent unit over all.
