can Thread Magic Thread Conditioner be used with cotton embroidery floss?

It’s not a real sticky fabric but I’ve never needed a conditioner with floss that’s been properly separated before stitching.

Does this damage any metals for goldwork?

I don’t know. I have heard from others that this helps a great deal with guiding the thread through the fabric. Metals are hard to work with so use something to help guide your thread.if not this then bee wax

Will it stop thread from twisting?

Yes, it helps keep the thread from twisting. Doesn't stop it entirely (threads are still spun), but makes a huge difference over not using it at all/the thread by itself.

does this conditioner leave any stains on the fabric like beeswax does like a grease stain?

I have never had a problem with it leaving stains...but of course, test your fabric first
