Excellent Product!
This is an excellent product! I have had great success with using it in making puddings and dumplings. The taste is fantastic and the quality is really good. It was well packed and shipped in a reasonable time (give it at least two weeks) from Spellbound from England. I order a couple every other month that way I always have some as many British recipes call for suet.

Freshness
I love this product. However, it was not fresh and I ended up throwing it away.

A must for Spotted Dick
I have gone vegan so this was purchased before I did. It sits in the pantry now waiting to be used in great recipes like steak and kidney pudding or spotted dick.I guess one day I will use it. I grew up with Atora made puddings, yummy.

Good, But Use Carefully
I am English and wanted to make a pudding. But my wife is vegetarian. Therefore I bought this veggie "suet". I found I had to use twice the quantity specified in my recipe calling for real suet. But I finished with a nice airy "crust" so I was happy. BTW the instructions that came on the package are in metric, I did not bother to convert - used trial and error instead.

English style Christmas pudding without the meat
I'm no vegetarian, though the thought of using beef fat as a primary ingredient into fruit-based English Christmas puddings did not add much value in our household. We managed to buy some vegatable suet via Amazon and was promptly shipped from the UK to the US, taking about 10 days. The product is the lower fat version and as the phrase goes "The proof of the pudding is in the eating", which I have to say was an absolutely delicious exercise.I am unable to add general links to websites, though if you're interested in one of the recipes search for "delia smith online christmas pudding" or better yet buy her general cooking book which includes this and is pretty good at leading you through a reduced stress cooking life Delia Smith's Complete Illustrated Cookery Course: A New Edition for the 1990s :-)Hope this helps.

Essential pantry item
I am English and this is a necessary item in my pantry for making all the British treats my American family love. I use it mostly for making dumplings:Mix 8oz self raising flour with 4oz suet and some fresh chopped parsley and a pinch of salt. Form it into a dough ball using a small amount of water. Roll dough into 8-12 balls and pop them on the top of your stew for the last 20 minutes of cooking. This item on Amazon from this seller has increased in price a lot from when I first started ordering. I found it cheaper online elsewhere the last time I ordered. Cooking Marvellous - please reduce your price. This item is $1.50 in the UK. Charging $8.58 (with shipping) is extortionate!

It was fine and performed as a suet sorta should but I don't think the Christmas pudding was as moist.
