NX694 6 x 9 Car Speakers, 800 W Pair, 4 Way, Full Range

I bought a 1996 Classic Silverado truck that had the original stereo with separate CD player that needed replacing. I rely heavily on reviews before I make any purchases but I decided to "roll the dice" on the Boss 650UA. At 50+ years old I didn't see the need to spend huge money on a stereo for a standard cab truck. One concern that I had was compromising quality for price. WRONG ! What started as a stereo and new speakers has blown into a system that's nothing short of AWESOME ! I know there are those who have unlimited funds that spend thousands on a great stereo, I'm not one of those people. I bought the Boss 650UA Head Unit, Boss CH6530 Chaos Exxtreme 6.5 " door speakers, the Boss CH4630 4x6" speakers for the rear posts and a Sound Storm EV 400 4 channel amp. It sounded pretty good but lacked bass. I could have stopped there but I continued to improve the system over the next two weeks. Next was the Sound Storm SSL S4EQ Equalizer. (Sound Storm is Boss). Then I bought 2 Boss Audio CXX10 Chaos Exxtreme 800 Watt 10" Subs and a Boss Audio R1100M Riot 1100 Watt amp to drive them. I was on a roll so why stop there ? lol Next was the Boss Audio NX694 6x9 4 way 800 Watt full range speakers with a Boss Audio PT 1000 Phantom Amp to drive them. All packed into a Standard Cab truck. lol Also bought a 2 Farad Capacitor and a Power Distribution Block just to be safe. Getting ready to complete my system with 2 Tweeters and then I'm finished. So with everything said and done I have less than $ 400.00 into this entire system and let me say it ROCKS ! No engine noise, no distortion, just crystal clear and clean music at an affordable price. The 2 Subs under the seats sound fantastic ! I could have bought the Clarion, the Alpine etc., and the price tag would doubled or tripled but for me this is an awesome system that's worth every penny. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't change a thing ! My suggestions would be TAKE YOUR TIME ! It's any easy "Do It Yourself" install if you follow the wiring diagrams that are provided. Also use the thickest gauge wiring that you can -Amps, Speakers, Battery, Ground, etc.. Don't buy a great system and then skimp on the wire ! As far as the negative comments go, I would ignore them. Boss makes quality audio at affordable prices. I would have to recommend Boss Audio to everyone !!! Comment Comment | Permalink

Sounds great with a 1200 watt amp pushing them hooking up to factory they didnt sound like much.

Put these in my Dodge Challenger RT perfect sound these bad baby scream for the price you can’t beat them. Nowhere got another set from Amazon just in case anything did happen. Love them.

It’s not the best car speaker you’ll ever hear, but for the money it’s absolutely incomparable. Good quality build and nice response in the low end.

I bought these as an upgrade and it did just that. I was running a pair of Boss 6x9 that was rated at 100rms. I know right lol. In my upgrade I've replaced my entire system w all Boss audio. From The Head Unit all the way down to the wires. These do hit hard for 6x9's almost have you to think they are 10" subs. I do suggest using 16-12ga wire as the normal 18ga wire used when installing aftermarket speakers. The speaker wire that comes stock w these speakers no second thougts just trash. From looking at the wires (brittle and flimsy) You can strip the stock wires w/o a wire stripping tool. I ran them first and made the speakers sound like a cheap radio when you turn the volune above 15. I thought these cant be garbage. The look and design of these speakers a well put. The magnets are big and may need some fabrication work done to make them fit. I have them running from a Boss CE702 bridged at 300 rms. I think these speakers can handle a 1000w amp dont want to push too much they're only 6x9's but make you think from the sound they are 10" subs. I can turn my bass nob down on my CE3800D ran to my 12's and still hear some good sub sound from these 6X9's when I just want ride w/o disturbing others. The price is not bad for the quality of speaker you get I would have expected to pay more. In all cant go wrong these are really good speakers.

I would recommend not buying these speakers at all. The “SPEECE” company that sells them here on Amazon will not send you make good and stand behind the product they sell here. I order these speakers and within about 5-10 times of use within a month time on motorcycle, one of the speakers just stopped working for no reason. The seller only told me to contact the manufacturer.

I purchased 2 sets (4 speakers for $64 total). Very inexpensive, well made, handsome speakers. I can't attest to the Max power rating of 800 watts (and the RMS rating is no where to be found [shame on you BOSS!]) unless I throw an oscilloscope on it to check. Magnets appear to be in the 80 ounce range, although again there is no spec (the larger the magnet, the better bass efficiency you will get), and are booted in rubber to protect them from being cracked/chipped. The efficiency rating is very good at 92 dB (the higher the number the louder the speaker). I use KnuKoncepts 10 gauge speaker wire (14.5' runs) coming from a 4-channel, true 600/1,200 watt RMS/max amplifier. I use these speakers in boxes mounted externally in the bed of a pickup truck, and pull them inside when not in use or raining. As the purpose is for outside audio, I need them to be LOUD. The interconnection wires (hair thin, 28 gauge?) that come with these speakers -MUST- be thrown away (utter garbage you would use on a 10 watt speaker), but first make sure you purchase matching slip-on connectors to make your own wires (and yes, believe it or not, I use 10 gauge wire inside the speaker boxes for this also). The point is to deliver as much power from the amp as close to the actual cones as possible... which means right up to the slip-on connectors of the speakers themselves. The important part to remember is always match your speakers to your amplifier; in fact your speakers should be rated a little higher than the amp can deliver (RMS/Max). These are rated at 800 watts Max each, so if you calculate at 1/3 for RMS, that still makes them 266.66 watts RMS each. But let's say they lied, and the 800 Max is the rating for 2 speakers, then you would still wind-up having an RMS of roughly 133.33 watts. In my case that works out fine, because my amp is rated at 150 watts RMS per channel (300 Max) as configured. Once you back the amp down (roughly 12.5% or 1/8 of the way) to negate clipping, you'd wind-up with an output on each channel of 131.25 watts RMS. A near-perfect match. Time will tell how these hold up.

The speaker and the cover holes don't align with each other, and the hole template seems off too....not sure what's going on here, metric to imperial conversion or design and factory tolerances are off. I had to file two opposing speaker holes to get them to fit...what a pain. the manufacture should have verified proper alignment. Other then the alignment issue the speakers seem to be good quality.

I have kicker 6x9 and love them but the bass on these far surpass the kickers. For a 6x9 to punch like this, really surprised me. Killer price too.
