BGSD Women Mariel Wool Blend Hooded Long Walking Coat (Also available in Plus Size and Petite)

I have been looking for a long warm winter coat with a hood that wasn't super bulky and it is HARD to find until this coat. It keeps the wind out and it is not super heavy. The pockets are in a weird spot that is a little unnatural, but still very functional. The hood is perfect. I love this coat.I thought the size was true to size. I am 5' 10" and 155 pounds. The medium would have fit ok, but because I knew I would have bulkier winter clothes are underneath, I went with a large and it's perfect. Not too tight but still gives me a little shape.

As soon as I open the box I saw the quality of this beautiful coat. It's literally shipped with a hanger and a plastic covering. Not shrink wrapped and squished into a little bag. The quality of the material is thick and soft. I was concerned about ordering in my size but it fits perfectly and not overdone. The buttons could be sewn on a little tighter but other than that I have absolutely no complaints and I can hardly wait to wear this!

I saw reviews that the sleeves were too long. When I put the coat on I did notice the length but it fit so well I didn’t worry about it. Then I got in the car and the sleeves did not scoot up my arms! Amazing to have a coat that still goes to my wrist while driving. The fit is wonderful. Though I will say the pockets are lower than normal, they line up with the longer sleeves. But again not a big thing for me. The overall length of the coat is fabulous and so far it seems very warm and wind protected like you would expect from wool. The wool is not brushed, so no it is not soft and smooth, personally I love it, wool is scratchy. It is still very soft. The only problem that removed a star was the pocket on the left is caught in the bottom snap stitching so it only is part of a pocket and the buttons are not sewed well, they will come off it not fixed. I wanted to do an exchange but I love the warm coat too much to go without it.

Came in in time, in big box, not in bag, nicely wrapped, not wrinkled at all. Very good quality, material feels smooth, thick, seems warm. Very classy style, elegant. Totally recommend it!

This is a fabulous coat (medium regular not petite) I am 5‘2“ at 140 pounds, 34D chest and it fits me perfectly. It’s slightly loose on the waist and upper body, my arms are kind of big so it fits just right on my arms, (to just before mid hand arms down) still I could probably wear a thickish sweater underneath or a warm vest. It comes down to my ankles. I don’t hundred percent like the fact that the outside pockets are a little too low on the coat for me at my height. But they are deep enough to hold my phone etc. there are two inside pockets also at chest level, one is zippered which are very handy. But you cannot get to them when the coat is buttoned up as it buttons up on the opposite side. I am pretty handy so I will switch the coat to the other side so I can reach those pockets and keep my phone there so it doesn’t flap as much about when I walk. I’m not sure if this coat would hold up to an East Coast winter. I wore it in 50° weather walking around SF with just a dress on underneath and was very comfortable. I think he would most likely need to wear some thermals underneath, a sweater and/or a vest too maybe and then you would be jammie for 20-30° or so. I would recommend this coat it’s pretty good value for money. I got the one that was prime in case I needed to return it as I don’t know the company‘s return policy. Very happy with my purchase. PS I May take it to the dry cleaners since it does have a few wrinkles but that’s to be expected in a packaged clothing item.

Beautiful coat. Excellent design and construction. So smart of them to make the bottom button a snap; it’s a long coat and the final button falls around mid-thigh, the first time I wore it I was walking the dog and had to bend down to pick up his business. I was conscious of the fact that the coat was pulling where my legs bent and I was thinking I should reinforce the buttons when suddenly the snap came free. So smart. If that fastener had been a button I would have to worry about it pulling off and getting lost, but its breakaway snap solved the issue before it was an issue. All the other fasteners are regular buttons but they are above the legs and are well sewn. The fit is lovely, well tailored and flattering, a little roomy but that is good for winter sweaters.

Very nice coat! The sizing is a bit off because they have an “extra” size. Since I am a plus size gal, I ordered a 3X because I always go up a size when ordering online. It’s a little big but I’m not “swimming”in it. The shoulders are very roomy which is a new feeling for me. I’m not sure if the 2X would have fit since I have a large chest. The pockets are.... odd. I feel like they were placed too low on the coat. They are a good size, but with my arm fully extended they pocket just barley reached the base of my fingers, leaving the back of my hand exposed. Gloves are must if you want warm hands. The hood is my favorite part of the coat. It’s heavy and wide so it doesn’t blow off easily and I can place it where I like it.

This formal full length wool blend coat is beautifully tailored. The construction is complete quality with true attention to detail. The lining and material that this coat is made out of makes it surprisingly warm without adding unattractive bulk. It is a classic wardrobe must-have that will never go out of style. The removable hood allows you to wear it more formal (without) or casual (with the hood). Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better coat if I had gone into Nordstrom's or Macy's to try it on. I LOVE the fact that they include a wide range of lengths (petite, regular or tall) to include everybody. Don't hesitate to buy this gorgeous, flattering, quality wardrobe staple. You will NOT be disappointed!
