An excellent synopsis of guerilla warfare conflicts throughout history. A reference for every historian or professional soldier. Illustrations are limited, so a historical atlas will be needed to supplement the 2 volume set. A go to reference for unconventional conflict history. The 2 volumes are largely focused on East Asian 20th century conflicts, but also cover other areas, such as Boer War, and Seminole War. The organization of topics are sometimes vexing, but the books are well indexed with very comprehensive bibliography.

I SO understood the phrase, "arrogance of ignorance" when I first read these books in the late 1980's, when they were only twenty years old; that I have used it ever since. It accurately and succinctly expresses what I've encountered so frequently all of my life.

Great book.

This would seem to be the definitive treatise in guerilla warfare--dated in the way of publishing, but not ideology.

I had this set when it was first published in 1975 it was a very nice boxed setthat I had used for over twenty yrs of my military career too bad mr asprey passed away because I am certain his knowledge and expertise on this topic as well as resources are phenomenal. Anyone interested in our current world crisis will find this ideal and very informative.
