Given the relatively low price, I was surprised by how much I like this bar. It is light weight, of course, but also very well made with high quality machining. The bar is a larger diameter which makes it more comfortable to use. I've only used it with about 150 lbs so far, but there was no flex. Much nicer than a typical steel lat bar.

First of all the bar is not solid, let's just be clear, this is a hollow tubing construction, aluminum bar, with plastic caps on the ends to cover the tubing ends. I was really trying to find a solid aluminum bar but we will see how long this lasts. It's still a solid 4 star bar but with a medium duty center bearing piece (held by what looks like aluminum rivets) and hollow construction, it has a bit more of a light feel to it than is desirable for this type of bar. This bar will work just fine for your average home gym user and may even hold up to some commercial use. We will see!

I bought this bar because my stainless bar was so heavy it outweighed the selector pin causing it to fall while changing weight. This bar is light enough that my wife is able to set it up with ease. It has a nice diameter and gentle knurling making it very comfortable to grasp. Seems sturdy enough for any amount of weight that my family will ever use. Of note, the swivel eye where it connects to the cable is very nicely detailed and rotates smoothly. Quality product.

I ordered this for my DIY pulley system and it works beautifully! It's solid construction and you can definitely tell it was manufactured with high quality in mind. At first I was a little hesitant because it's aluminum, but it's thick and the lightweight is actually wonderful. If you need one of these, I strongly recommend this unit.

Just received my highly anticipated Body Solid lat pulldown bar. I have an Inspire FT2, but decided to buy the Body Solid lat pulldown bar over the Inspire version, because the swivel joint hole appeared larger. Very disappointed when I received it just a few minutes ago. The swivel joint is excessively loose and rattly. After looking closely, it appears the collars were riveted with too much of a gap causing the problem. Honestly, how much effort does it take to ensure a good contact with a swivel joint and the collar before riveting it in? Not sure how they messed this up, but for such a simple construction it is concerning. Will not be buying body solid products again. Quality assurance could have easily caught this poor construction and re-riveted it. Instead, I have a rattle loose lat pull down bar now, which feels like Chinese junk on my nice FT2 setup. Sad.

This bar is better than 90% of those used in commercial gyms. It is so light, but it is also a bit thicker than the average pulldown bar at the same time. It feels great in your hands but it should be noted that the knurling is *very* mild in case that it something you value. I purchased their EZ bar and straight bar attachments after getting this one because I like it so much. The cost to return ratio cannot be beat.
