Sunchang Gochujang 500g

I made a chicken thigh stir fry using Gochujang Medium Hot Korean chili paste… all I used was just 2 heaping tablespoons with 4 boneless chicken thighs… and it was pleasantly SPICEY … I also added some honey which made my chicken stir fry Hot and Sweet … I would certainly buy Gochujang Medium Hot AGAIN!

I make some seriously good spicy korean chicken with this stuff. I cant find it locally so I have purchased twice on amazon.Red chili paste ("gochujang" in Korean) is one of the essential seasoning ingredients in Korean cooking. I have looked in all my local grocery stores for this seasoning to no avail and was ecstatic to find it on here! (I shouldn't be surprised because Amazin is my go-to place for anything I want to purchase).This seasoning will last a long time as a little bit goes a long way. You have to be able to handle "spicy hot" as this definitely has a kick to it along with the fabulous flavor.I'm not sure what the traditional uses are for this but I brown chicken in sesame oil, garlic, salt & pepper, when it's almost finished I throw in sliced onions, bell pepper and lots of sliced cabbage. When it's almost finished cooking I add about a tbsp of this seasoning and mix well then serve the dish over Jasmine rice.Oh my gosh, it is so darned good!I would love if anyone could post their favorite recipes using this because I have no idea what to use it for except for the one meal I mentioned that a friend had cooked for me many years ago).This is much pricier than what I've paid for in the past but I think it's worth every dime. I would have given 5 stars but never tried any other brand. This is first one and love it! Price is worth it because it will last a long time at half a teaspoon in my stir frys.

This was the level 3 heat (I think there are 5 levels) and is described as "Medium Heat". For someone who loves spicy food, I think that is an accurate rating. Those who do not eat spicy foods often may think it's a little hotter than "Medium". The flavor is delicious and it is not just a vehicle for heat like some chili pastes. The flavor and heat balance is wonderful, as the heat is a slow building heat on the tongue that allows one to enjoy the flavor before bringing the spice. I still go to my Sriracha bottle more often as a condiment, but in my cooking, the Sunchang Gochujang is quickly finding its place in many recipes.

I bought this one ingredient that I didn’t already have to make a recipe from NYT Cooking app. The cookies were phenomenal and everyone loved them. I am now searching for more recipes to use this magic ingredient.

I don't know if this is authentic or not since I've never had any other experience with a product like this but I love this gochujang. I originally got it for a recipe not knowing what else to do with it but I've taken to adding some to many other dishes just because it adds a bit of heat along with a lot of complex flavors to about anything. It is great that it is a thick paste so it doesn't water down your dish like adding normal hot sauce can do.
