RicelandExtra Long Grain Rice, 2 Pound (Pack of 12)

The rice was supposed to ne in 12 2 pound boxes but arrived in 2 large bags..one 5 pound and one 20 pounds. This is for my 93 year old mother and now requires purchasing smaller containers and dividing appropriately.

Lived in Chicago area all my life and never used anything but Riceland Long Grain rice for everything, especially Mexican rice! Moved to Arizona 20 years ago and wasn't able to find it. So happy I was able to get a good supply via Amazon and able to share with a friend who also misses this great rice!

My wife poured some Riceland rice into the pan and noticed several small bugs moving around. Tossed the bag with an expiration date of Sep/2022. Pulled out another sealed, unused bag (Exp date of Sep/2022) and noticed bugs inside it moving around, too. Apparently, they are weevils. No more Riceland rice for us!!!

Not a good rice to buy, it feels hard after cooking any other brand of rice that I’ve cooked comes our soft and fluffy super delicious but this one is the worst never comes out nice just hard every time. I don’t recommend buying.

Can rice be defective? Lol. I bought this at a local grocery store in florida. So this review does not reflect on any seller here. Anyway, I used it in my steamer, took it out. Hard as a rock!! Put it back in --- altogether 50 mins it was in the steamer. I've had this steamer forever and never had an issue. Put it back in a boiling pot of water instead of a rice steamer. 20 more mins on summer. Still fairly hard. I took the five pound bag back to the store.

A favorite and one that we have a hard time finding in the store. It's the best rice!
